Doesn´t solve the issue for me...

@sallymorganmoore
I´m still waiting for your communication to us! We need feedback if the issue is on the FEDV Team radar and when we get a hotfix.

We have a thraed full of feedback:

And an issue tracker as well:

Cmon please more communication to your community!
It helped me to disable this AMD thing and switch to NORMAL MODE. It went back to the way it was before.

The VSYNC does help in some cases (maybe this is a complete different issue), but I realized that some other (strong and annoying) freezes are caused by texture streaming (maybe caused by multi-threading). I reduced texture sizes from high to medium and all freezes are gone at my system. I played yesterday without any stottering in settlements, on planets and in space.

So it probably depends on your system: HDD versus SSD, memory size on graphic card and so on. But it definitely helps to reduce streaming.

Yeah my system is super old and bad

Tried the texture thing and many other things as well but no success.
Game is totally broken since update 5 and still no answer from FDEV. :cautious:

Generally, the game looks way better AMD fidelity is great, BUT my FPS dropped below the 30s zone with the lowest possible settings near/at settlements, which is unacceptable. Before Patch 5 it was allright with 40-50 FPS. I have a GTX 1660 Ti with a Ryzen 5 and a lighning-speed M.2 SSD.

Tried to turn off AMD difelity, deletes the graph settings xml, reinstalled Nvidia driver, reverted back to the prev. driver, but nothing helps.

Hmmm .. just idea: can people with sudden fps drop check if this happens on some concrete planet type? ... I had these issues too, but now on settlement on ice planet and absolutely smooth play. Curious if problems may be not tied with planet type or planet type plus some type of settlements ... (two cases where I had really heavy fps drops were both on rocky type of planet)

@sallymorganmoore - any word on what's happening now? The problems with missing support missions are stopping people in their game progress. Is this being actively investigated for a quick fix or just piled on top of other bugs to fix eventually?

Regards
Tage

any chance of adding more ambient sound when you are browsing a planet and using external camera? any effect of fire or atmospheric resistance when entering a planet with 1 ATM?

I don't get an invitation for Terra Velasquez. I completed covert theft and covert robbery missions an extra 7 times. And no, I didn't miscount. For this I kept the good old tally sheet.

The prerequisites are also otherwise met. Jude Navarro received the required gene repair kits from me and introduced me to Terra Velasquez. Logging in / out is also unsuccessful.

I also experienced this in one settlement but not in another. But then it happened in space too, when I came closer to a planet. So I reduced texture size and the problem vanished instantly.

I guess it has to do with graphic cards memory size and the background streaming especially with multi-threading. One user found out that reducing the number of parallel threads improved the FPS. So some findings show in the same direction.

I believe it's six of each. And also that they have to be the covert ones, normal theft missions don't count.

Nope, it's been confirmed by Zac that it should be six overall, but covert theft missions didn't count sometimes due to a bug. No idea if Update 5 fixed that.

Can you please tell (more in detail) what and where can be changed? My personal knowledge with (graphic) settings for PCs is basic ... just common user. Are performance changes doable via ED graphic settings only or is needed tinkering also with graphic settings on PC? And for multi-threading? This needs user changes? I thought that it is something what modern game should utilise itself.

I did not change multithreading. I just tried to avoid it by reducing the texture sizes in the game settings. That is all.

Oh my days, the number of bugs reported in just this thread! Which is about the latest and LAST planned round of patches for the PC release.

Its depressing as hell. 😔

In the face of this car crash of an expansion, they have managed to weld a door back on, just about, with half the car dragging behind on the road slowing it down, only momentum carrying it forward.

Well, momentum and HOPE, coz while there were patches due there was hope. Now there's nothing to hold on to. Just a wreck slowly grinding to halt.

Pardon the metaphor thing but it's so sad to see such a terrific game go this way. I am clinging on, I truly am. But the will to play is dieing.

I wonder how many feel like me...
