Are retrieve item from crash sites missions broke? Just took one but it doesn't generate a site when I got there (even after mapping the planet/moon).
FYI, I executed two crash site missions successfully with patch 5. Just a data point, doesn't mean something is not broken with your particular mission/level etc.
 
Nope, it's been confirmed by Zac that it should be six overall, but covert theft missions didn't count sometimes due to a bug. No idea if Update 5 fixed that.
If so, it's been confirmed by dozens of actual players that it isn't. I got 8 confirmed covert thefts and 2 covert heists, not enough; had to do another 4 covert heists. "Sometimes" indeed.
 
Hmmm .. just idea: can people with sudden fps drop check if this happens on some concrete planet type? ... I had these issues too, but now on settlement on ice planet and absolutely smooth play. Curious if problems may be not tied with planet type or planet type plus some type of settlements ... (two cases where I had really heavy fps drops were both on rocky type of planet)
Eyup, I have that suspicion as well, some settlements (extraction) works fine, some are at 12 FPS (same layout)

@sallymorganmoore - any word on what's happening now? The problems with missing support missions are stopping people in their game progress. Is this being actively investigated for a quick fix or just piled on top of other bugs to fix eventually?

No rush, we're a patient bunch :) Invisible rocks, still in game, any news?

No news as yet sorry! I absolutely spoke with QA on it at the end of last week and I had some INCREDIBLE help from several Commanders now sending me specific locations where they were at their worst! Still really grateful to those folk. It's not just a case of "rocks are invisible = everywhere", it's like "certain specific rocks are invisible = only where they wanna be on whichever of the landable planets they choose" :')
So yeah...eyes are on. It's a tricky one but again, so thankful to the rock spotters I had!!
 
Can you please tell (more in detail) what and where can be changed? My personal knowledge with (graphic) settings for PCs is basic ... just common user. Are performance changes doable via ED graphic settings only or is needed tinkering also with graphic settings on PC? And for multi-threading? This needs user changes? I thought that it is something what modern game should utilise itself.
The idea is that for gaming mulithreading leads to lower FPS in general, and Edo is no exception. You can disable it in CPU settings of your bios. If it doesn't work you just turn it back on.
 
Still unable to use the jetpack properly as the HOLD button doesn't seem to work when using an xbox controller and HOTAS together

It definitely seems to be a problem connected to those two controls surfaces in use together as there are some other HOLD functions that will only work on one controller and not the other despite being bound properly. Certain menus will only accept a controller bound A press etc. There are a myriad other things I'd like to highlight that don't work as they should but I'm sticking with the Jump pack one until it gets resolved.

Since update 5 a lot of folks have had their first encounter with the game dropping to cripplingly poor framerates, as well as the now rarer than hen's teeth Support missions being broken, if you can actually find one.

I'm disappointed that after Arthur's words about openess and honesty, FD seems to be resuming it's role of "Hey, no problem here, let's check out all the cool Community stuff.....".

I'm a fan, I don't mind there being issues, I'm sure they'll be sorted - but shouldn't FD be talking about them and how they're going to be fixed - instead of reverting to type? And for goodness sakr the roadmap was built up to bigger than Ben-hur, what the hell happened, and why ("openess and honesty") hasn't it been explained?

Seriously, I respect FD and all you guys - but this does not compute.
 
Are we ready yet to just completely revert the un-necessary "Docked menu now defaults to 'Starport Services'" change from Update 4? No, Update 5 didn't fully fix it and many of us are of the opinion it never needed changing in the first place. I always want to refuel as first action after docked:

Thanks Piglet :) I've made a note for myself for the morning again on HOTAS/controls feedback. Again, thanks for your helpfulness with noting with the issue link too. Helps me out so much (also thanks for helping out further by raising just one prevailing issue for now). Very helpful :)
 
Some positive bugs.

1) whilst doing high czs with one of my vettes... when the battle is over and I go into sc to head back to hand in, the heatsinks and shield cell charges have all reset to the max. Having depleted em it's surely not intentional?
Surely this is a positive bug? Oh mebbe I shouldn't mention it!?

I've had normal numbers of support missions, done a good 20 million's worth or more... Could there be some other cause - something intentional, perhaps, in how support missions are generated? Perhaps they occur during expansion phases of the giver faction, perhaps during times of stress also, such as famine or whatever..? I don't know, but the faction giver for me is one with which I'm allied and which is actively supported in the BGS, so frequently fights wars or enters expansion.
