Weapon mods Scope.

I have a G5 P-15 with noise suppression. It's really good for short range silent takedowns, but it can't 1-shot kill, even in the head. I'm thinking about adding Headshot and Scope in order to both get the 1-shot kills and also make it likely to get a headshot at medium ranges. Would that be a good investment?

@CMDR The Riz do you use Stability mod with the Scope? I'm a bit confused. If Stability improves "Hip Fire Accuracy", does that mean it does nothing when you use the scope? Or is "Hip Fire Accuracy" just badly named?

I have an Oppressor with Stability and I found it to still be pretty trash, but looking at that video you shared, I'm interested to see how it goes with a scope.

Ok, so it's the Higher Accuracy mod you wouldn't want to mix with Scope then. Sorry, for some reason I thought Stability was the hip-fire one. 🤦‍♂️

hip fire accuracy improves accuracy when not in ADS mode

I really wonder how exactly is calculated.
shots have an inherent spread > ADS reduces that > Scope reduced that further more?
shots have an inherent spread > hipfire accuracy reduces this value > ADS reduces it even more > Scope reduces it further more?

I dont really think there are 2 separated values for Shot Spread, it seems more simple to have a single one and apply modifiers to it.
It would also explain why (when bugged, ?wrong multipliers?) the Intimidator with hipfire and scope used to concentrate all slugs in a single dot.
It doesnt happen anymore, but the spread is very tight even at longer distances...

I cant personally test it, i have 3 Intimidators, and only the fully g5 one, with scope, has a working ADS
the other 2 (store bought, g2 and g3) have broken ADS

I don't think scope would reduce it further, it should make it more likely that the midpoint of the spread is on target that's all.

Hip fire accuracy seems more helpful than accuracy with the assault rifles, I can see a definite improvement after adding it to the slugthrower AR.

The C-44? Do you aim with the scope on it? I actually have a pre-engineered one that came with a scope and used to enjoy aiming at enemies with it until I found better stuff. I was planning to put Stability and the one that lets you move normally while aiming and give it another go one day. Might try and find/make one with Accuracy for comparison.

I'd imagine the Stability mod would eliminate the recoil even while using the scope, though I'll be honest the lack of recoil screws with my muscle memory and makes me miss more shots than I would without it 🙃

I'm finding that my favorite mod is the Scope; I've put it on my AR-50, Oppressor and Aphelion (all G5'd). The scope helps a ton with aiming and target acquisition, especially with the Oppressor.

... And a Scope + Extended Magazine + G5 Aphelion is a literal cheat code. Can't wait to get a Headshot mod on it to push it to 12 ;)

push it to what?

I like the Aphelion a lot, have the same mods as you.
And yet my g4 Executioner beats it fair and square. That thing is even deadlier.

I've tested a couple guns with Stability. It reduces the amount the crosshairs creep up the screen while firing. There is a maximum creep point too where it will stop. These two elements seems to be the only consequences of "recoil". Spread is not affected. Aiming also reduces "recoil" and can actually reduce it to zero. So if you always aim, Stability is probably a trash mod.

Stability on the P-15 contributes nothing while aiming, when not aiming it reduces the creep by about half (both the rate of creep and the maximum creepage).

However, on the Oppressor it helps even when aiming (though it's not real significant).

As some people have mentioned, "Hip-fire" apparently reduces the amount of random "spread" you get. At some stage, as with "recoil", the "spread" will get to approximately zero and any additional efforts to reduce it further will be wasted, so combining Scope with either of these mods on certain weapons probably isn't the best investment. I think that's the moral of the story here. Also, that "hip fire accuracy" is a bad name. It should be simply "accuracy", it still applies when using a scope, it's just that on some/most/all? guns that's going to make no difference so you better do some science first.

Here's my Stability science, I aimed at the bottom of a sign. Top videos are without the mod, bottom are with it...
P-15 video: Proves to me that Stability is practically useless on the P-15, since you wouldn't normally unload a full clip on a target like this
Oppressor: It's useless unless you don't aim (in which case your Oppressor is useless anyway)

less recoil should imply faster rate of fire since the next shot will get fired when the weapons recover from the recoil

It doesn't fire faster, it just allows you to be on aim earlier than you would otherwise, which may allow you to shoot earlier and hit instead of being carried off by the recoil and miss.
Yeah, there's no difference in the rate of fire.

If you are far enough away from the target for the small amount of extra mouse movement to make that much of a difference, then that's when you're accuracy is really going to matter more to keep your hit rate up. Unless you already got "spread" down to zero, I wouldn't bother with Stability.

What's the combination that's ridiculous on the Intimidator? Is it Scope and Accuracy?

I thought people had realized that the Accuracy mod reduced spread even while ADS. The combination turned the shotgun into a high-bore rifle
