South American foxes (aka zorros)

So, recently in a conversation with @SanRazo618, I remembered about a fascinating group of canids known as zorros (in Spanish) and raposa (in Portuguese).

While they look like foxes, they are in fact closer to jackals and wolves. They are in SA only, across the whole continent.

There are only 6 species:

  1. Andean/culpeo fox

  2. South American gray fox

  3. Hoary fox

  4. Darwin's fox

  5. Pampas fox

  6. Sechuran fox

Basically they take the role of foxes for SA. In Argentina they are sometimes hunted for their fur, and in history the Fuegian dog (Yaghan dog, perro yagán, perro fueguino) was a domesticated culpeo fox. Unfortunately, that dog has become extinct, but it shows that dogs have been bred that weren't silver foxes or wolves, which goes to show that people may be able to breed new types of dogs from other canines (dholes for example).

These are interesting animals that might gain popularity and eventually be added to the game (wishful thinking). But, I like them. They look like a cross between a fox and a Canis canine, at least to me. What're y'alls opinion/s about these animals?

I find them so interesting! They’re closely related to the maned Wolf, Bush dogs, and the extinct Falkland Islands Wolf. The Darwin’s Fox looks very beautiful but so do the rest of them. They have a thinner more keen look than regular foxes which is weird cause you’d think the opposite when you hear they’re closer to wolves

While they seem very interesting, I think the roster is way too overpopulated with canines, with the only remaining canine I see working being the Maned Wolf due to its very different body and behaviour.

Ideally I agree, in a similar vein I'd like the arabian oryx (as my picture implies), despite the Gemsbok already being in the game. But assuming the game has a total of ~30 habitat animals left in terms of dlc slots, I'd prefer these slots go to more unique/staple animals for a more complete roster.
True, if the game really only had 30 slots left, I'd go with more unique animals with unique animations. But if support lasts longer than we expect, than I would love a couple more canines to have alternate choices (which is why I'm glad we have so many bears. All I'm missing is my beloved American black bear)

30 slots left means ~6 dlcs left, which is about an extra year and a half of support, which is on the longer side of support for this type of game.

My favorite living animal is the North American gray fox, but I could substitute it for the Sechuran fox or the South American gray fox, just because they look similar

Where this information comes from. Im curious.
I honestly don't know. It's just rumors; I personally don't think we have only 6 more DLC left, but I'm just going to assume we do until proven wrong (that way I'm not disappointed if it's true but super happy if it's false)

We had confirmation of support until second quarter of 2022, which means at least 4 more dlcs.

People assume additional 2 in order to close 2022 with 4 packs.

This would also give the game 3 years of support, which is (apparently, according to other users) the average life cycle of this kind of game.

I didn't do this research, I'm just parroting things I heard on the forum, but this seems to be the general assumption.

Of course, they could easily extend it or already have planned to have longer support. We really just don't know.

I think they're basing it off of JWE and PC. But this game is completely different (update/DLC wise). So, it's like comparing oranges and lemons: both are very similar, but very different

31th May to be exact.
We know there are 2 more dlc via gameContent7 and 8. Africa pack is first dlc of FY2022. That means there are only 2 more dlcs, perhaps 3 if they are going to release something in spring. There wont be more time for any pack in FY2022.

I hope we get more. If the rumors are true it'd be very disappointing that it ended so soon
