Thank you very much for taking the time to personally speak here. And i am looking forward to see and hear of the future plans and re-iterations of existing systems. o7

It's really getting old always feeling like an afterthought on console.

Seriously, it sucks and makes it really difficult to want to have any faith left in the Dev team.
What is so hard to understand, the PC experience is pants you want that on console too? You are not an afterthought you are spared potentially the post release beta testing/early access nightmare no one wanted or expected but is seemingly going to be dealt with prior to console release.... I'd take that any day

Ultimately, we believe it is right to focus our efforts on the core Elite Dangerous Odyssey experience for the platforms that we have released on, before opening up to more.
This is all good news. Thank you for doing the right thing. This should have been the guiding principle from the get-go.

I hope future expansions (please let there be future expansions!) will be less chaotic thanks to the lessons learned from Odyssey. If a product must be released "half-baked" at least slap an early access label on it. Better yet, just wait until it's fully baked.

Please, if you focus on the pc version, give us an option to play on pc with our console accounts. I understand the decision, but having started on Xbox, in my case, and wanting to enjoy the game a little more with, for example, better joysticks, or being in the version that has the most support, we do not want to start from scratch, I want to have the progress of hundreds of hours when I make the change.

Thanks
You can ask support to reset your Xbox account and transfer all credits you had to pc. The rest is new but at least you will have all the credits (including value of your fleet).

Personally whilst I am disappointed with the direction of the game at its core i still love it . I may not play it again like I used to but I doubt it will be uninstalled so long as the lights are on and the servers running. I am glad to hear more updates are incoming and hope things get back on track.
Thanks for the update

PS @db you are so wrong about VR and elite.... I don't think you know what a jewel you have but hey ho.

People want a bug free release without delay. If FD can't then they will be either scolded for bugs or the delay. Or both. :p

Well, delaying console versions to fix and improve the PC version is the right thing to do. People already gave you money for it and should be treated with the utmost priority, so kudos for that.

Gives a proper roadmap. Stop with this nonsense hiding of the features you want to add. It's so out of touch and last decade type of behavior. People are excited to see a proper roadmap for early access games. Knowing where the game is heading. Talking about the upcoming features. Giving input and feel like they are part of this early access development.

Anyways. One step in the right direction. I little bit of hope was restored.

Not interested. FDev lost me with this crap. Unless they add ship interiors, PROPER ship interiors ill not be installing ODDyssey. CMDR Y2K - Tripple Elite, King, Admiral, 50 billion cash, A Carrier with over 10yrs funding, Every single ship fully engineered and over 15,000hrs played.
Dude. You have been playing an average of six hours per day, every day, of every week, month and year since 2014?!

Greetings Commanders.

With the release of Update 5 on 1st July plus a few smaller server updates since, and Update 6 currently in development, I wanted to take a moment of your time to talk about the next steps for Elite Dangerous.

We are aware and fully accept the frustration that many of our players have had with their experience of Elite Dangerous Odyssey. The community have spoken, we have heard the feedback clearly and we will act on that feedback.

As you may remember in our recent development article, the significant amount of updates and development effort that has been done to fix and improve issues since the launch of Odyssey has meant work on our console release has not progressed as quickly as we had hoped. What’s more, we can see that the strides we have made through the last five major updates are positive, but we must continue on with this progress to give the experience that you and we expect on PC.

With those things in mind, we have spent a lot of time discussing and re-evaluating our previous plans and we have made the decision to prioritise the core PC experience for Elite Dangerous. Ultimately, we believe it is right to focus our efforts on the core Elite Dangerous Odyssey experience for the platforms that we have released on, before opening up to more. We know that the work that we do to improve players’ experiences of Elite Dangerous Odyssey on PC will benefit other platforms in the future, but the dates and details of the console platforms are going to change. We do not want to rush into confirming any dates or changes this has on our console release, as we must remain fully focused on the core Elite experience. Only when we feel that the foundation of the PC release is solid, will we be able to re-lay our console roadmap on top.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey is an important step on a complicated journey, and we must get this right, before we can consider moving on to these new platforms.

So what does this actually mean for Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous Odyssey?

It means that we will see more game updates over the coming months. We will continue to work through Issue Tracker, fix bugs and improve performance, but we will also be able to explore and add additional features, content and improvements into the game.

We will continue to give open monthly development updates where we discuss WIP content, challenges, the issue tracker and more. We know that the previous levels of detail for the roadmap and developer update have not met expectations, but we are grateful for your patience while we shift and adjust plans, in the face of such clear feedback.

Please remember that our team here at Frontier are working hard to support the game and our community. Behind every bug fix, design decision and community post is a person who cares a lot about giving our players best possible experience. I would ask that everyone remains calm and respectful when sharing their thoughts and feedback.

We all have the same goal and we will get there, together. Please bear with us.

o7 Commanders.
Many thanks for this statement. This is the commitment we all hope for and expect. Please, back this up with action, leadership and determination and we will back you 100% of the way!

We believe in the world you and we as the Elite Community have created mutually and will never back down from what this can and should become. o7

Hey, we don't set the dates. We aren't the ones marketing content that is nowhere near what "pre-alpha in game engine lawyer rubbish fine print" shows.
We aren't in charge of the alpha forums where paying customers were told "don't worry, this build version is oooold."
But yeah, pin it on the customers who dared to believe FD.

David,

I am a PC and a console commander, and while I can't obviously speak for everyone who has been frustrated, I can at least say that seeing this come from you has definitely helped with my view of Elite, and your company/staff. A lot of us believed that you and your company no longer cared about the game or us, and this kind of post means a lot to us. It is difficult for some of us on the consumer side to see exactly what goes on over at FDev, and while I have been active on the forums stating my disappointment, I don't want the effort that your team has put into Elite to go unnoticed. Thank you very much for all of your work.

Lastly, while I and others may disagree about design decisions, or anything else about the game, remember that we love your game as much as you do, and want the best for it. A complicated road indeed.

Please forget adding new stuff, just make the existing stuff work. And make Power play open only, anyone pledged to a power for more than 4 weeks gets bumped into open when engaged in PP activities. It's not that hard to code.
