So, if I had to think of "fast travel/hyperjump" on balloon surface, I would probably try to "push" origin and destination point on balloon (with my fingers
) until they "touch" somewhere "inside" of the balloon.
As surface in 2D has indefinitely small "thickness" the actual travel after bending the space(surface) would be accordingly VERY short trip.
Seems like I could build stargates/teleports in this model only after reaching the other location in "classic" (surface travel) way. Because I need to apply the force/energy in both locations to make them "touch" themselves.
