State of the Game

Only in the sense that the words are defined by the other word's existence.

paths dont have to have a beginning or an end. You may be part of such a pathway. Traveling from one bug to the next and hopefully passing thru towards a fix.
My pathway seems to be like Möbius stip.
It's a loop
and it's dimensional range is unfitting to the surroundings.

obviously. but we're all used to everything we suggest in this forum not meaning anything. It's the elite dangerous forum. It exists here to keep us from posting opinions where they matter...which is apparently only on youtube and twitch these days.
Perhaps posting one's opinions in other, more read, locations, has gained one permanent bans? Who knows?

As, perhaps, in the not too distant future, those same opinions will be aired once again, internal censor forgotten, and some of the 'outspoken' on this forum might have to find new places to spread their own brand of 'polemic'?

Many people have short memories for the things they disagree with, perhaps the 'fun' on the forum is only just about to start!

it's unlikely that opinions on elite dangerous have led to bans on any platform (except their own forum)

i'm not sure if you think elite dangerous comments are as controversial as opinions on topics like race and gender etc... or if you think everyone else cares as much about elite dangerous as those topics.

either way, you're being overly optimistic about the future of such commenting considering that the game is doomed.

The game has been doomed since before its release, what's new?

Who gives a :poop: about elite dangerous comments? Be frank, you know you can...

The fun is in the 'angry people', plenty come here, permanently damaged by a game, they are the fun, they are the game - you know that.

Interlude:

It took 40 minutes to fully salvage a large tourism-type settlement.

With high capacity, long sprint distance Maverick suit, so I could collect up to 30/60 goods/mats before I had to drop them in SRV and could sprint almost constantly.
And I wasn't downloading almost any data, because of bad RNG it was mostly useless.

It's... tiresome?

Did you murder all of them before helping yourself to the goodies?
Data is stupid, up to 5 minutes of just standing waiting for guards / civilians to come through a door (assuming there are any left alive) to give one something entertaining to do!

40 minutes is pretty reasonable for a tourism base, even if all but the scavs were dead beforehand.

It was a "kill(em all) scavengers" mission.
I learned that after bombing them I can use PR to turn power on, collect items & data, and then shut power down and pick my PR back.

That's my SOP these days, bring the base back alive - some of those large tourist ones can give useful data, I think I've picked up the 3 Smears from them, as well a few cats and opinion data (and the entertainment ones) - and enough goodies to need the SRV parked outside of the habs as 30 'goods' isn't enough!

luckily, you'll get to use those materials and such to upgrade your suit and weapons (and only those things) to do the same exact activity you just did without them. But maybe slightly quicker or with less risk.

So, you're progressing your way to a less exciting experience than however exciting that one was (since you'll just be doing that one regardless of how far you've progressed), for the reward of credits or bgs impact. - which you can get doing nearly anything else as well..

Yeah... right... but they remain the king, so tough :poop:
Of course, there is nothing to prevent a peasant making their own kingdom and declaring themselves king, with their own rules, or lack of them, is there?

LUCKILY I managed to turn reflections and insight off, and I don't look further into the future, then building some engineered suit/weapons combo.
An isolated, small goal, I don't even care if it will be useful.

indeed. and why bother playing at all if you have an imagination, since your imagination is boundless and available anywhere and at any time.
Because I have these - bear with me and I'll explain the concept simply - "friends" in the game, these are other human players, not NPCs, who like to share their time with other human players in this game, enjoying both banter and gameplay. I know with some other 'humans' the concept of 'play' is exceedingly difficult to process, and that shared enjoyment is entirely foreign, to each their own, I suppose.
