Actually this is not true, although it should be.Well, one of side effect of overcoming the irrational and exaggerated emotional responses to negative "baits" is diminished joy coming from positive ones.
I may have forgotten to mention that, as this is bad for marketing![]()
Actually this is not true, although it should be.
I just realized this by recalling how many times I have laughed reading this thread, and amount of joy and delight I have experienced there,
and honestly - I can't call it neither reasonable nor well grounded outcome.
Yeah, but a positive one. It's absolute lunacy, is what it is!![]()
Somewhat belatedly I just wanted to chime in and add my vote for this. Can I just take this moment to be inexcusably off topic and serious, though? (Why'm I asking? I'm gonna do so anyhoo):
I just love this thread. Not only have I met a whole bunch of new friends, I've also learned a lot about y'all and, as it turns out, y'all are a lot more like me than you'd probably like to admit. I know I wouldn't.![]()
Same here mate. Honestly I've lost count - some of the posts are brilliant and have me laughing to the extent that Mrs PiLhEaD has given up asking 'what?'... ....although I've not seen her since she went to see her mother sometime last week... hmmm.... no wonder I'm hungry! Hungry for PIE!!!!!!...I just realized this by recalling how many times I have laughed reading this thread, and amount of joy and delight I have experienced there,
and honestly - I can't call it neither reasonable nor well grounded outcome.

FTFY.
Buy an Idris!
I'm not one to defend star citizen, but the whole ships being vapor thing is showing it's age.
Maybe. Being able to buy them with out of game cash though is a kind of vapor game.
For all it's faults at least ED is classless. If I die horribly to an Elite Cmdr in a Corvette there's no question that what really killed me was his credit card. Some people might long to be a Second-Class Citizen but I'm definitely not one of them.
same difference. whether it's spending money or grinding for a few days.., you would end up in the same boat. but you would be stupid to pay real money for elite credits.
it's not like you get credits (insane amounts) from tests of skill.
It's not quite that. Difficult to put finger on maybe but a game is a game the store a distraction?
Like, if I want a ship that's going to cost 100 tons worth Void Opals.
All the while I'm mining them, in the back of my mind is a voice, "Why bother. All you need is $20, shiny things await!" ..
"Hang on, I thought I needed 100 tons, mass .. of VO's?"
"No."
don't we constantly say the same thing about players rushing to infinite wealth who then complain about not having anything to do?
Even the "get rich quick exploits" in Elite aren't really quick and you have to bear a week long mind numbing grind nevertheless.the get rich quick exploit of the month?
