Ships Fleet carrier

Hi new owner and about halfway to Hip 58832 using the spansh carrier route planner but have now found the fuel used is far more than the planner forecasts, with my un-used capacity (17895 Tons) the jump cost of 77 tons is actually costing 148 tons! and I'm gonna be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no fuel, whats gone wrong? any suggestions? is it the planner or me?

Just tried with my FC and the amount required does seem higher (previously spansh has been accurate). Maybe broken by Odyssey along with everything else?

When you buy a carrier it comes blank. 25000t empty.
As soon as you buy modules for it like shipyard and repair rearm etc they add weight and bite into the 25000 capacity.
Then u add 2000 painite 1000 ltds etc it all gets a bit heavy hence fuel use off

Let us know how you get on otherwise I am sure we can organise a rescue party. I came back from there just a few days back.

Hi, marooned at HD 102779 embarrassingly asking for help, Tritium, about 150 tons will get me to the ice ring at Hip 56843, I will place a buy order for Tritium and any carrier owner passing wants sell some and help me out of the s--t I would be thankful (very).
ship name, La Normandie II

Update.
A big thank you to Cmdr Ed, CrotchRoach and Wizardkitty who helped and delivered ( Wizardkitty) / donated Tritium to get me going again. Many thanks:)(y)(y)

I did my third run with one of my Carriers to Colonia recently - that is, the 23k + from Bubble to Colonia.
But since was my third trip, I learned the tricks this time:

1 - all empty
2 - all module uninstalled
3 - all unnecessary ships "parked" in my carrier were moved to a station ( I only carried 2 Vett.s, 2 Cutters and a bunch of Chally and Cheffy.s, since those cannot be aquired in Colonia). And OBVIOUS, the 2 ships one MUST have in a carrier - the landing one, equipped with SRV. in case you need to land and grab some materials and, most important, the THUG BOAT - aka big & fast fully equipped miner ( in my case, the Queen Miner, the Cutter) - just in case, you know....

Conclusion - started the run with 6k Tritium in depo, at only 9000 from 25 000 occupied, and half trip I was to a nice limit of some 86-81 Tritium per 500 ly jump - I reached the Colonia with more than 2400 Tritium still available on depo ...
In the first trip I used near 6k Tritium. On this one, only 3600.

Stored ships and stored ship modules do not count to weight of carrier, so do not affect fuel usage.

I keep my carrier light by not having unneeded carrier modules fitted, shipyard, outfitting and secure warehouse are not required so give me an additional 5,000t extra cargo carrying capacity or a saving in Tritium if empty.

My carrier is used for mining and solo exploration, it provides basic facilities for passing Cmdr's but is not set up as a fleet support carrier.

I keep mine parked in an admin sector ( Ratraii) in Colonia and I only install modules when I need something - this way I can buy ANY module/weapon without loosing a second.
Also, I stock minerals there, so I can use the moment when those 50 millions mining missions pop-up - I just love mining, that is.... And from all places, Colonia is the best thing for miners - all pristine there...
