Reminds me of a photo I like to troll animal/nature lovers with,
when they start their "blah blah blah, humans so evil, nature so sweet, puppies, kittens and rainbows".

you can't use logic and facts to convince people who believe in stupid things that they're not stupid things to believe in. If that kind of stuff worked, they wouldn't believe obviously stupid things.

You have to make your argument on the same level of nonsense that got them to believe the current garbage they believe in. Sure they'll just believe another idiot thing eventually, but you can't fix stupid. You can only pretend like they're not to their face and nudge them in a better direction because we live in a society and despite what they would like to think, soylent green isn't a thing yet.

Therefore I am not even referring to CONVINCING them (as: by arguments/logic etc)
But in this, exceptional case, they can empirically check this themselves, what makes this conspiracy theory pretty unique.

anyone who has any thoughts that nature is sweet is seriously ... but pretty much only humans and other primates have a monopoly on sadism and torture...
It's only because we have learned to restrain ourselves.

As paradoxical it sound on this topic, we must have noticed on some point of our genetic evolution,
that purposely (and then indefinitely) delaying the moment when our prey is dead
allows us to experience the rush we have from hunting
(and especially from the moment of killing it) for extended periods of time.

But this agitation and pleasure that comes with it are NOT human "invention".
They are inherited. From the "sweet" nature.

I see most of human "evilness" as inevitable consequence of environment and genetic heritage we are coming from.

cats are just practicing... humans have cruelty sewn up. I grew up in farming so well aware of animal "cruelty" - lambs with eyes pecked out etc, etc, but premeditated torture? That takes humans....
Nah, all cats are cruel, and dolphin to. They do harm on purpose for their enjoyment. I can't even type what the dolphins do without getting censored immediately.
All primates can be pretty metal to.

agree there and I have nothing against hunting (although I don't) - but it's hard to find an anthropic principle behind cold hard torture for the sake of it - other than perhaps giving the other tribe reason to stay well away from you...

I wouldn't overthink things and look for some rational reasons / scenarios.
People do sick stuff when it gives them "kick" they get addicted to.
And this happens on levels of brain that are older then our "civilized" history.

they're not interested in proving anything. they're interested in the calmness of certain belief or the collectiveness of belonging to a group ...or being the victim. or just being contrary to another group or the excitement of fantasy.
