Overzealous ship names censoring system

So, It's been okay for years, and only now I've noticed in Odyssey that using "Guadalcanal" as a ship name is a reason for FD to release the savage asterisks flood.
Is there a way to have this fixed? I went to the support section on the website and didn't find a way to submit a ticket or anything similar. Any ideas?

you must be protected from yourself. hence censorship settings cannot be implemented in a way that allows the user who might be offended by text they read to be in control over hiding those things from their view without impacting everyone else who doesn't care.

so you're out of luck.

Well, you have to admit, the name gets a bit kinky right on the end there...

I'm still annoyed that they censored monarch
And Grasshopper. Support had to get involved with that one.
The worst part is that if you do fall foul of the Scunthorpe Problem, it doesn't even tell you. It shows just fine on your screen and leaves you to hope that someone else will have the grace to give you a heads up.

... in fact, the reason given for this ludicrously overzealous filtering was the PEGI 7 rating.
Which Odyssey isn't.
Some of the NPCs can be heard swearing even, usually when they spot a grenade at their feet.
SO DITCH THE BLASTED SHIP NAME FILTER ALREADY.

censoring it for everyone else but not you is the exact opposite way a proper censorship filter should work. As a player you should have the option to set your censorship level, whether that's "profanity" or blood and gore or otherwise. This should impact exactly 1 client ..your own.

everyone else shouldn't have to be negatively impacted by the whims of other people's sensibilities.

I have the following bookmarked - I just change the subject in the drop-down list to something loosely related:

Submit a request – Frontier Support

customersupport.frontier.co.uk customersupport.frontier.co.uk


It takes a long time for something to get whitelisted, for example I use some Scottish island names for ship names on a couple of accounts, it took forever to get "Cumbrae" cleared, the Gaelic (Cumaradh) still gets censored.

Have the same problem with one of my ships. The INARA generated ship id is X-6KU7, but for some reason, the game doesn't like it.

God knows what it thinks it is.

that reminds me of this system, name which has obviously been changed since way back.. for some innocent reason🤣

and just noticed it was Exploited 😇🤗

... the problem is that just takes you to the support site - have you seen the number of posts by people saying they cannot find a "submit a request" button? That is why I always link to the page I gave, an actual "Submit a Request" form.

I've received a response from the support team, explaining that it can't be fixed instantly, but it's being looked into. I'm not holding my breath, but I'll report if anything worth reporting happens :)
