Commander Blakeslee here. My first choice (Kinnison) was rejected, either for IP reasons or there are are more Galactic Patrol fans out there than I thought; but I'm happy with what I've got.

Off now to ask Mobius nicely for a banner, once I've thought of a better motto than "tunicula rufa, vita brevis".

I pick my hero of the Ancient world for my commander name. Vercingertorix Which united the tribes of the Gaul against Julius Caesar's in the Gallic Wars.

Nope. I am American :eek:. My sister gave me a book called Druids by Morgan Llywelyn. It was about a druid Ainvar and warrior king Vercigetorix. Trying to save the Gaul and unite the Gaul So at the time I was thinking it was a book of Fiction. Well it half true it was both Fiction and Non Fiction. The Story of the Druid Ainvar was Fiction. But the story of Vercingertorix Non Fiction.

Seeing as that book obviously made an impression, try this one:

The Eagle and the Raven by Pauline Gedge

It's about Caradoc, who you coud say is the British version of Vercingertorix. And the book is also historically based.

But I don't know him personally, he was born before me.

Has anyone tried to get the Name "Elite" ... as in Commander Elite?
I am surprised no-one tried registering on the forum a username "Elite"

This obscure thought came to me when seeing my post rank under my username, and I thought "How cool would it be if your username was "Elite" and your post count rank was "Dangerous"?"

Commander Kolt will be launching his shiny new Eagle this time next year hopefully.

I chose the name because A. Its short. B. Its the name of a fantastic American gun company. Albeit with a letter changed. :p

Also, I'm going to avoid most of you folks online. Nothing personal, but have you SEEN the names in this thread? If anyone tried to hail me with voice comms, I would have to spend a few minutes just figuring out how to pronounce your names!
