Unless you're at Loreville or A18. ;)

I think maybe they listen to that criticism before MicroTech, on New Baggage you don't have to use the train, they have ship landing areas and pedestrian entrances right outside the space port and main area.
So i don't mind going to NB and i almost never use the space port for arrival, i always land on the ice.

I'm not a fan of the trains, so i dont go where the trains are. Hence I dont got to Loreville or A18 all that much.

According to that earth is 637.8 km in game

Ooof, that's painful. Its also why i hope FD pull their finger out and focus more on getting all planets landable and gas giants enterable. One of ED's strengths is the galaxy generation and its a shame it isn't built upon more rather than them messing around with pew-pew mini-games.

Aye, the desync is maddening on tired servers, even for PvE stuff and we all have to live with it. Twitch streamers fare far worse than the rest of us since they can't just jump servers like most of us do when we see the tell-tale signs of it getting bad, it's fairly obvious when the server is dying...NPC's all standing on chairs or glitching, NPC ships rubberbanding around the place or becoming indestructible, elevator or ship doors not opening for 5 seconds or more, or elevators opening with the black hole of death beyond, team mates vanishing or rubber banding around...that kind of stuff.

Twitch streamers having a live audience doesn't make jumping servers every couple of hours that entertaining to watch, not really practical either I suppose which is why all these desync related bugs are prevalent for them, not so much for the rest of us... you don't see many YouTube videos with horrendous desync, not just because most are edited...and not just purposely to not show the desync errors but for brevity or to add commentary and the like. The Twitch streamers are getting it bad and there's not a lot they can do about it.

It's common practise either on your own or even if there's 5 or 6 of us pootling about and the desync gets bad, we all just drop to the menu once we've all landed, party leader then re-launches the game which automatically drags us all into a fresh server as a group. The party launch thing is pretty good, saves having to fart about for 30 minutes trying to join servers with team mates which are always magically full when you're trying to get in. You just all party up at the main menu, party leader launches the game.
It’s a pity I have only have one like to give. This explains a few things…

Had major issue with the Cutty Black yesterday, first the refinery glitched 100k cargo when storing it on the ship so lost that and to make matters worse the rear access ramp became jammed slightly open meaning it wouldn't open at all, in the end had to go to another station and reclaim it to set it back to normal. Did manage to sell the second refinery load after that so made 70k.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
You don't need to enter caves to sample hand mining...you can use any ship scanner to find hand mineable deposits on the surface of any moon or planet. Hit tab to enter scan mode and when you ping (Left MB), look for little gem icons on your ship HUD...not the rock shaped icons, they're ship mineable deposits. Once you find the deposit, scan it using the right MB to identify it. Look for outcrops of hadanite or dolovine...
Thanks!
I tried this, but unfortunately I only ever found one deposit that was hand-minable. (The gem icons, right? Not the rocks). That one I found was at the top of this jagged peak. I managed to land, but the slope was high and when I stepped off the ramp I died. lol.

Spent awhile trying to find other deposits on other moons, but no luck. The spawn rate is quite low if this experience is the norm. I can see why caves are/were the go-to for this. Seems like just relying on RNG is a non-starter.

The hand minables out on a planet surface are exceedingly rare now. It is the same gem icon as the ROC minable ones. You can tell them apart by the weight of the rock.

They pretty much only exist now to annoy the ROC miners.

So they say it in the nicest possible way, but all of the damage balancing done through 3.14 is gonna have to be redone down the line, when 'physical damage' / armour finally arrives with the fundamental materials rework. In whatever year that is…

Not to mention the flight model for each ship too, due to centre mass getting changed etc.

Kinda awkward that it was supposed to be in by 2015 really…

Tried out the new Xenothreat in the latest PTU build with a few of the org guys. All in all, the improvements are very marked over the last one...frames were still low-ish but very smooth gameplay wise with hardly any desync at all, even with up to 20 players, ships and as many Xeno ships including the Idris on screen. They didn't drop the server cap this time and we had a full server of 50 players during our run through Xeno...

I recorded a video of the Xeno bunfight as I experienced it from the turret of @Intrepid3D's Cutty Black...apart from my mouse sensitivity being set too low for the turret yaw, I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Compared to the last effort...it was chalk and cheese performance wise...didn't see one rubber banding ship the whole time even when my screen was full of explosions, missiles, torpedoes, flares from the Idris as well as the Xeno ships.

This latest 3.14 PTU build overall has raised the framerates especially around Orison, as much as the frames are still on the low side again with all the clouds etc turned up to maximum, the patch runs very smoothly for everyone...and apparently...from what I'm seeing anyway...almost banished the desync. We'll see what happens when it hits the live servers of course.

Against all my expectations, you've impressed me Ci¬G, keep it coming. Still a few bugs and annoyances to sort out in 3.14, but it's getting there. :)

I'll post the vid when it's done processing...
