Good luck to you with the house hunting.
I'm in exactly the same position - prices have gone up by insane amounts - a cottage in 2019 sold for £425k, now going for £650k and every house I've put an offer on in the last 18months has gone to someone from London with seemingly unlimited money. All I want is something where I grew up with outside space. It's got to the point where I just want to give up.

At least it's raining for a change :)
