DLSS please.

AMD FSR is good point.
But i have nvidia GPU and would be great to use it's native techs.
As i've heared, DLSS in now engine-free and can be easly integreate in any project.
So can we also expect it in near future?
Please, FDev.

I read around it's DX12 only, so, it's not gonna happen (if they didn't go dx12 with odyssey, they won't do it at least until next expansion)

I don't believe that is true, when you look at the DLSS supported games lists I'm pretty sure they are not all DX12 titles.

Why should the push for closed standard that does not support the majority of players? What is the incentive for doing that? especially, at times like now, where AMD is now challenging NVidia's dominance and Intel moves to push their GPUs....

And you should know, that "free" is not cost free, it takes time and effort to implement DLSS, it got added to Unreal engine, but that is not used by Frontier, they have their own engine, so it comes down to Frontier to implement this "free" stuff....

So what would be better if DLSS was added, would it be 30% better over FSR? 20% 10%? 5%? 1%?

How much time and effort to add something that potentially would only be usable by a subset of users?

And sofar the comparisons between DLSS and FSR do not show any major differences in performance or image quality, only that DLSS often has a little better image quality. So what is it you expect to get with DLSS?

Tbh it would just encourage FDev to be even MORE lazy with optimization. Why optimize it when you can just tell gamers to "just turn on DLSS/FSR if your frames are too low for you"?

The UE4 plug works with dx11, dx12 and vulkan. In any case, I dont think many, or any, dev studio uses DLSS without direct support and aid from NVidia. Its not a trivial thing to implement and all, and only works for people with 1) an Nvidia card, that is 2) either 2000 or 3000 series. No dev studio invests too much of their time on such a niche thing.
