Anyway, if you want to talk about them, nobody is stopping you.

So, they copied ED's capacitor system and its good?

How does the new capicator system work together with the older power triangle? Or have they ditched the power triangle?
Missed this one...the power triangle is still there, still works but there are keyboard shortcuts to adjust it rather than use the fiddly MFD. As for copying ED's sytem...why not? The devs know it works already and is a simple, efficient and easy system. For once...Ci¬G weren't trying to reinvent the wheel to implement a simple power management system. It works and everyone likes it. There have been more than a few suggestions from prominent PvP'ers that Ci¬G should make it more like ED's pip system and do away with the power triangle all together...I agree :)

Chris lived in Manchester, which explains the connection and its where the main UK office is (well, Wilmslow, which is the posher end of Manchester).
Wilmslow's a chunk outside Manc central, tbh, so it's a bit more like Croydon/London - still Greater Manchester, but not really Manchester Manchester.

FWIW there's also a lot of tech industry there, has been for decades so there's decent local infrastructure. I had a job interview in Wilmslow in the early 90s but can't remember who it was with.

EDIT: The denizens of Wilmslow would probably want to be compared with Kingston-upon-Thames instead but a) Croydon was the first thing that sprung to mind and b) Kingston isn't all that either.

Ok, so how are the two things connected?

Well, its understandable why it has to be outside Manchester. Mancunians are still working out how to make fire by banging rocks together :D

(Sorry, can't help myself, i come from the other side of the Pennines)

Just that you can either still chose to fiddle about with the triangle on the MFD or press F5, F6, F7 to increase the power allocation to the relevant bits incrementally or hold to put full power to each, F8 to rebalance the pips or centre the triangle...In my case...Voice attack commands still work as they did prior to the whole capacitor thing. "Inrease power to shields." or "Full power to shields." etc works the same for me as it did before...without the fiddling with the MFD triangle.

Pressing a combination of the F keys will shove power to weapons and shields etc...same as my VA commands to do the same. It's not really changed that much as a physical operation besides adding the keybinds, but now it's a lot more important due to the whole combat balancing thing Ci¬G have done...hammering the fire button with ballistic gatlings will empty your ammo in about 5 to 10 seconds or drain the weapons capacitors for the lasers...ship combat is now a balancing act using all of that power management instead of simply relying on a DPS heavy meta build and taping down the fire button.

. "Inrease power to shields.

Got a giggle reading that. Images came into my head of a mad scotsman shouting INREASE! INREASE! Why dinna ye understan me ye stupid computer!

PS: Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like a good change, and i can see why some people want the triangle now gone.... but oh dear, that means changing the cockpits of all ships... again.

Yorkshire then?

I did my degree in Salford. Rough city at the time and the whole thing was eye-opening someone who's very southern! I did like Manc, though. Had a lot of fun there although I'm surprised that I came out of it as sane as I did (which was kinda clinging on by the fingernails).

Well, in case of Greater London, 90% of it is not London London :)
Yeah. There are arguments about what actually defines London.

I did mention Croydon/Kingston.... they're represented in the London Assembly so technically they are, but they really don't feel like it when you're there. Maybe I should have used a different example!
