I usually do chick peas in the instant pot (pressure cooker) - nicer than tinned by a mile I reckon... 👍
yes, but to get a smooth texture of the hummus you need to get rid of the peal around those chickpeas - and this can be a bit tedious to do, that is why I use canned chickpeas with those removed already. A can is pretty cheap as well 1.40 AUD here - that is about $1 US and enough for two.

I like as well the sesame taste of tahini and put a little more of that into my hummus - so in the end it doesn't matter that much, that my chickpeas are from a can. the luxury I enjoy with my self-made tahini is using macadamia oil in it - it's a bit expensive, but I like it very much.

pudding has a different meaning in english though - this is more like a flavored custard - a dessert pudding is something like this here

but there are as well hearty puddings like steak and kidney pudding

not to be mixed with steak and kidney pie

Mmmm, tasty. I spent a late lunch yesterday with a good friend in an award winning Pie and Ale pub tucked away, just off Regent's Street in the heart of London. Blooming fabulous it was too. Pie, mash and gravy, with a good IPA (or three). Food of the gods!

(Other gods are available but the scriptures in the Brookes of Brebus are very clear on this subject... by my very subjective reading...)

I never had an IPA yet, something to try pretty soon, I guess.

the only problem with that ... if they offer guinness as well, I'm likely to order that. ;)

Ok, the secret of Normandy cooking : add cream.
The secret of Spanish, Itialian and Mediterranean cooking : add olive oil.
The secret of many French places : add butter.
The secret of Alps and many mountain cooking : add melted cheese
Across the board the best food I've had, in terms of quality and consistency has been in Italy. I can happily say that I have never had a meal in Italy that wasn't at least good.

France (well Paris) on the other hand averaged out at 'poor', with the service '[redacted]'.

you need to grab a french friend, he or she will show you were to get marvelous food - as a tourist you are likely to not get the best you could get.

Oh rubbish!! You're just misunderstanding Parisian culture.... I believe that being rude, offhand, condescending and at times bordering on offensively dismissive is a mark of respect in Paris.... 😏
