Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 6

Are you having issue's with scavenge POI missions? Im getting nothing but crashes when I approach them now.
It was not mission for me, just random land. Didn't do missions today yet.

However, AI is greatly improved.
Looted settlement and 1-2 NPC left alive. I came out for 10 mins while ship remained docked in port. When I back It was almost exploded :D Some NPC found it (!!! 1st ever time) and shoot from pistol for long.
 
You don't understand them because you are not affected by them, easy.

Odyssey has been like this from alpha. Some people had reasonable performance, other, often with really good hardware, did not. I ran Horizon at 2k res, everything maxed out, never under 90 fps. I ran 1,25 superscaling too. Now with Odyssey I see 40 fps in stations and settlements.

Rest assured, I'd love to have decent performance, I've been playing elite dangerous for years, I don't want to stop.
Compare what can be compared. Horizon uses a rendering process from the 2000's Odyssey uses a new PBR rendering.
It's like comparing an Austin mini from the 60's to this one from today, it has nothing to do with it.

We have old potatos pc (for me) and we want to play new games... that's all. I firstly thanks the team to make it "more" possible.
 
Really, though, you shouldn't have to "suspect". A UI element should either be understood at a glance or, failing that, should be explained somewhere. Another sign that the people doing the interface design for Odyssey don't really adhere to standards, to the extent you have to wonder about their qualifications in the area. My old professor would be appalled.
No, until I proved it by testing it it will always be a suspicion. Your old professor probably would have understood that concept.
 
Good stuff, and happy to report i can feel the performance improvement somewhat (depending on settings) when using FSR, but only acceptable on ultra quality level... you guys have a really weird concept of quality, because the standard quality setting isn't great, and i didn't want to even bother going down to "balanced".

Plus text in places (especially in ship) looks fuzzy when using FSR, something that is not as bad when using normal rendering.

Getting really bizarre FPS dips as well, check out this video.

Standing in one place get 60 FPS, move a bit and it drops significantly.


Can't help but feel there is something really bad missing from optimization causing this to happen.

Done and DM'd. I just selected "Gameplay", as I'm not sure if it's just an "Audio" issue. I'll leave it for you or the QA team to decide.

Well you did warn us:
  • NPC crewmates will be less shy and have more consistently triggered dialogue.
They are certainly less shy with more dialogue and it is consistently triggering me 😜
 
@sallymorganmoore Could we see a statement on where VR is at sometime in the near future? I dont expect anything now but I'm reading alot of posts on Steam and FD forums that are rather displeased with the discontinuation of VR development
