State of the Game

they dont want to repeat CQC ...so not going to happen that way.

But it'll be implemented in a way that is mostly totally separate from the rest of the game so it can be a DLC and not a required direct upgrade. Which means all of the gameplay is going to be hella lame because none of it will be integrated with the rest of the game and it will feel super artificially redundant and isolated.

a tooltip for why something is disabled/greyed out would probably be too much to ask.

if you have an nvidia 1000 series or greater (or any amd card made in the last few years) ...it shouldn't be a hardware issue. Nor a driver issue since if you're gaming - you should always be keeping that up to date .

that leaves the game itself. I'd think after updating to patch 6, you might need to close and re-launch the launcher maybe to trigger certain config defaults? ...the launcher for this game is so stupid who knows. But i think you want to keep the supersampling to 1.0 for FSR. FSR is supposed to automatically choose a lower rendering resolution for you based on the FSR (quality / performance) setting such that the output matches your native resolution in image quality (or slightly less for performance mode) ...but both should be better framerates than native. if you were limited before.

so fsr was enabled for me in wine off the bat. just jumped over to my computer to test patch 6.

seems to be connected to the previous amd fidelity fx setting. So if you had that disabled ...you wont be able to use FSR. Maybe you should delete windows, install linux and run the game in wine :)

edit: also if it will be greyed out if you have a global setting for fsr enabled in your OS graphics driver manager. and as well, it seems anti-aliasing settings (disabled or very low) will grey it out...so pick the fsaa one or so.

They "fixed" salvage missions.

I mean - ALMOST - now mission POIs are spawning,
but you can't progress because picking up mission item doesn't trigger the next stage of mission.

EDIT: another mission worked normally.

You need antialiasing set first... It tells you if you hover over the AMD greyed-out bar.
I sorted it out- I had to enable FSAA in the NVidia applet first.

I must admit its working better now- concourse areas are generally workable and now are not pixel hell. Inside my ship the UI is so chunky its painful though, and on foot the performance is crap still (all this on 'Performance').

If FD want Odyssey to work on consoles they still have a lot of work to do.

What level of Supersampling are you using - I'm getting very good results (see above) with 75%

Its set to FSR 1.0, SMAA and performance. I don't have an option for 75% (I'm still getting my head around it all, seems a gibbon designed this system).

Bear in mind I'm running a GT 1030 too, so I'm not expecting miracles :D
