i dont get why fdev likes these big updates. when they aren't needing to do so for console update limits and such.. you would think during a beta test like what we're currently in.. frequent small updates would benefit everyone - especially fdev - in dealing with not only feedback on fixes ..since there would be far less of them in an update, but feedback on regressions caused by those limited fixes and thus the ability to correct those regressions before the next update is ready to be pushed.

i guess that is because they have really a bigger team working on it now, and so there are a lot of smaller fixes but many of those and they add up to a bigger update in the end.

i'd believe that if the updates were happening weekly... but they held on to this for like a month.
yeah weekly would eventually be better - with those changes, which take longer integrated on a bi-weekly or even monthly schedule.

i would understand it, if it would include console stuff, where the approval process takes more time and it can't be done on a weekly schedule - but this is PC only.

good point.

Would have been nice if the lore created a kind of mangled version of speaking for the empire. it's been like hundreds of years since they split off from the federation and left earth. Such a thing would give them a bit of an identity above a different color scheme.

Maybe make them speak like tom hanks in cloud atlas.
In NMS one has to learn the alien languages word for word by requesting language help from NPCs. That is not just funny at times, but the better you get at their language, the more you can eventually get help from them - if you choose the right dialogue, if not your standing to the faction might decrease. After getting better at it, I could finally understand them well enough to get, that they mocked me all the time like - "grah interloper! you pathetic, weak-minded coward, Yv'keen warrior will help you. what is your question?" - given they are right, I have just killed 1 ship so far - but I have comrade status with them.

the "practice language skills" options lead to a dialogue with 4 of your learned words to choose from - if it is something of interest to that NPC, they might help you out with ship modules, upgrades, sometimes nanites or money, but if you anger them with that word, your standing might eventually decrease. This is actually fun, I like interacting with aliens.
