State of the Game

Ok New rig - Ryzen 9, Geforce 3060, 32 GB ram, AUSUS prime 550B- A board, 1TB SSD. Yes small- ATX wanna fight about it.

2k - SS 1.5 - 60 fps space - 40 fps concourse and settlements. I will be doing some more tests - one crash and a little jitter cos no sync on monitor.

Any suggestions for fps tests i can run?
Also did i really join the forum in 2013 !!!!

i do want to fight about it

your aio water cooler isn't going to be able to deal with the density of heat 7nm puts out.
it doesn't have the flow rate. aio's almost all use extremely little pumps pushing very little antifreeze. Go custom. sure you'll drop like 300 on the cooling system but it'll be much more complicated and inconvenient for those extra frames per second. ( seriously though, go custom after your aio starts disappointing you)

the game should be on the m2 drive and not on anything on the sata bus for optimal texture loading times and patch updates ( which you'll be doing a lot in oddysey it seems)

should have went with a seasonic psu. Titanium power rating. best warranty available.

Since we're sorta on the subject...

I overclocked my i9 9900k today and put all the cores at 4.9. Odyssey plays like a completely different game. I have almost no complaints on perfomace. VR high with terrain on Ultra+.

I'm freaking giddy like a school girl about Odyssey right now.

RTX 3070TI

if you're having to work 150% as hard as horizon for the same graphics... you have things to complain about still.

Happy for you, but like Darth says, you really shouldn't have to :)

Thought I'd try VR again - after update 6 dropped.
Spent several hours playing with the FSR thing - It does get you extra frames, but makes any text almost unreadable, - plus frame rates in Station / @ some settlements is still cack.
Also the FSR isn't applied to the pancake mode screen, when you enter a station, so it looks really cack. I get the feeling that VR is really dropping down the list at the mo' - even for basic bug fixes. Understandable, given the other issues they have, but still disappointing.

Really miss my VR, and it's a sodding shame, as the game is excellent in 2D, and I get great frame rates in space / planets, and passable / playable (usually) in station / settlements.

Oh well - back to flat mode / reading the forums - grrrrrrr.

Update 7 maybe !?

update 7 should be this coming week's fixes for patch 6.

unfortunately, fdev will probably hold on to patch 7 for 3+ weeks and think it's so awesome to have a 3 page changelog despite that never going well for them
