Frontline/Apex ships with CMDR onboard... is there any reason to explain why we can't interdict [and kill] them?

As subject says... how are we supposed to counter BGS/undermining activities if we can't interdict/kill the ships?

I reckon if we see them in EDO (and everyone there has the foot DLC), we may eventually drop in the wake and try to destroy ships before landing/docking and/or engage the CMDR on foot... but what's going to happen when we'll have the EDO/EDH merged?

Not considering instancing issues and the fact that the ships appear like hollows in SC and in the contacts... which does look like someone is making fun of us.

Because the passenger couldn't do anything to defend himself and it'd be a sitting duck.

Now, if they arm to the teeth the taxi with turrets and countermeasures, and let the passenger to act like a gunner, it could be a different story, but the Adder wouldn't be up to the task.

Because using an Apex shuttle would be a death sentence in PvP. It's not like the player can do anything but watch in an Apex shuttle. And ganking a NPC adder doesn't seems like it's difficult.

But I suspect it's much more minor in number than the people playing in private/solo, whom you can't catch either.

Honestly, following their wake down to the planet seems like the most obvious thing to do, it's not like they can even see the scanner.

God, imagine the salt though. Someone takes an apex, ship touches down, they disembark, and before they've even had a chance to turn around and see their shuttle depart, a ship hovering next to the landing pad that they had no way of knowing was even there drops a full salvo of dumbfires on them.

Better to know the Cmdr is there than have them be in an instance of their own & you would never know.

You can follow them if you want to interact with the player.

Apart from failing the mission, there's basically no downside risk in allowing that... or why not introducing further taxi options like paying 10x and having better ships (ATR-like?).

Countering is always possible, ofc but killing/blockading looks like a better option (saying everyone is in fair open play).

Yep that's a good point (excluding the poor experience given instancing issues in following the low-wakes), but is double edged (i.e. scouting many systems without any risk).

how about Thargoids Hydra as a taxi. (y) :alien:

Who in their right mind is using a taxi for faction undermining and BGS work?
I met a player (happily turned out to be working the same side as me) who was using an alt for the on foot stuff, flying them around in a ship owned by their main account.

It had the advantage that the main didn't go hostile with the station controlling faction, and of course in theory I could have destroyed both cmdrs.

wait...so he had to run the game on 2 different PC spontaneously, right ?? or I misunderstood what you just wrote.

Seriously? You really have to ask that question?

Here's a hint... Take an Apex shuttle yourself and JUST LOOK how much control you have over it...

Common dude, use some common sense. It'd be like kicking a puppy that had been glued to the floor.

He is nothing less but a hardcore player. Flying safe everywhere undetected with Notoriety 10 doing dirty job.

Maybe :) It's not how I play (I only have one account) but I thought it was a novel approach. Presumably FDev intended this kind of gameplay to be done with friends but having two separate players, one waiting around while being flown to the destination, then the pilot waiting around while the on-foot Cmdr does their thing seems like dull gameplay to me so using two accounts probably doesn't require much multi-tasking.
