State of the Game

btw social media, search engines and any kind of tracking on the web is digging the gold of the future - personal data and behavioral data of mass amounts of people, collecting and categorizing them, required to train AI - this is the gold of the future and that is why all the big players are trying to collect as many of it as possible.

THIS should be read by any tinfoil claiming that he is so important and dangerous to the system that data is collected while he is browsing internet with purpose to be used against him by some shady government "punishment" services.

Right to privacy and habeas corpus are literally the foundation of democracy and personal freedom. That's the 2 most important things people asked during the French Revolution, and have been key for any real democracy.

Currently, we are losing one, and it's even worse since it's for non government bodies. Which mean corporation are keeping private stuff even on politician, up to the top.

Oui,
I was referring to another context though.

The amount of of "nutjob clubs" in social media sharing their "experiences" of being under surveillance or followed by some shady people because of their "revolutionary" ideas and theories they post online is... overwhelming (once you waste some time to visit those loony bins).

This is also a very interesting psychological(psychiatric?) topic - many people seem to have a very easy path to paranoia or even schizophrenia "inherited" in their brains.

All they need it a boring and or unsatisfying life and very common for humans need to be important that can easily lead to delusions of grandeur,
next step is paranoia and progressing delusions (brain is starting to "spice up" perception of reality to fulfil those needs),
what in some cases can end with the alternative reality suppressing/superseding the boring "common" reality.

Anyone here read Ben Elton's "Blind Faith" - written mid 2000's, and amazingly prescient (and a funny dystopian book IMHO). Likewise Valorin mentioned the Black Mirror series which looks more and more like real life the more time passes... 😭

What's really weird is that we aren't "losing one" - we are literally giving it away without a second thought in many cases. Always find it ironic that the tin-foil hat, chem trail/anti-vacc nutter brigade who are convinced the government or the Illuminati are spying on them are quite happy to be all over Facebook... 🙄

Spaceship trails are made of mind altering chemical. And the universe only have a single galaxy. The facts are in front of everyone but nobody dare to see them !

Wake up people !

Fun fact, most the liberty restrictions and tyrants throughout History have been made with the approval of the public.

And we get back to the "gullible dumb people" part :)

I'd take that a step further and say "all they need is a perception of a boring or unsatisfying life" - we live in an era where (in the west) all but the absolute poorest in society live a more cosseted life than a King of England in the Middle Ages - no famine, no war, good healthcare, treateable disease, lots of 'toys' to play with...
But we have a media intent on the hedonistic treadmill - your life needs more stuff, what you've got isn't enough, look at what these lovely beautiful people are doing as the abseil over the Serengetti, drive across ravines in their 4x4, socialise with other beautiful people etc., etc., etc.
A sense of being disenfranchised is a breeding ground for what Juice Media aptly call f*^kwittery, and the dangerous bit is that's what puts incompetent people like Trump et al in positions of power...

The more dangerous part is the erosion of trustworthy news and sources of information. Now everything is 'fake' or 'problematic' and allows you to wave it away in your mind, or that social media platforms allow frankly nutty things to gain legitimacy.

Thank goodness 3307 allows you to eat the stupid.

You are absolutely right.
But the "hunger" for being EXTRAORDINARY makes all you have mentioned irrelevant, because some people have the insuppressible need to be MUCH MORE then others.

I mean, I had my short glimpse on this "road to hell" years ago, but with all my mental "traps" I was born with I was also gifted with EXTRAORDINARY 🤣 ability to trace how my late conclusions and changes to internal reality model impact the efficiency of my brain, so I quickly "shook it off" because I saw exactly where does it lead at the very start ;)
Also, if you laugh at yourself and your inner world often enough, it makes you pretty immune to any harmful mental condition.
It takes another, TOO SERIAL kind of people and other set of emotions to really tune into this mess.

FD, we want "chemtrails scooping" modules.
COMMUNITY HAS SPOKEN!!!
They are still not giving us cockpit cat.

RE: Ads

Having "grown up" in the US in the 70's and watching Saturday morning programming for years, I learned at an early age how to just not take in the ads (IE: ignore them). I won't say that I'm completely unaffected by all of them, but for the vast majority, I just naturally filter them out. And occasionally there's one that I'm actually interested in.

So, I don't mind the ads so much as I usually just use that time to think about something else, or the scene I last saw before the ad began, or I get up and get a snack, have a smoke, talk to my wife, etc...

Having said that, I do detest ads in the middle of whatever I'm watching and will sometimes go out of my way spending extra time to find a different ad free (or at least ad skippable) delivery method for the content in question. Or sometimes I just "change the channel", so to speak, or stop watching altogether and go do something else.

Though lately we've just been gorging on "Downton Abbey" on Netflix, so no ads there.

I've done far worse than kill you. I've denied you cockpit cats. And I wish to go on... denying you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left the game. Marooned for all eternity, in the center of a dead game... grinding..... Ground alive.

OK, this gets annoying, and I haven't had anything like this since ... alpha?
It's the third time in a row when I try to leave some settlement.
As soon as I jumped to SC:

So I tried to outsmart the bug and fly away in "normal" space until game stops rendering the settlement and THEN jump to SC.

Guess what, after taking off and flying a few kms game crashed...
