Need help getting around.

Good morning everyone , I am new to the game , Need someone to take me around if anyone has the time ,Thanks Zeekiums.

First of all - which game? Odyssey and Horizons can be dramtically different, and I have no clue about Odyssey.

Next, there's a pilot training in Horizons and presumably also in Odyssey - do it. Otherwise, the game is a sandbox - "taking you around" could take a couple of years...

There are people who are more than happy to talk you through things, answer questions and fly with you in multiplayer / mentoring. Go to the Galactic Academy discord server and see if you find what you need:

By the way, there is a dedicated Newcomer's sub-forum which is welcoming, warm and cosy where any question you like to put will produce helpful replies:

(There is a further sub-forum to that one which contains guides and tutorials - linked at the top of the Newcomer's forum, as is the Galactic Academy.)

Youtube is your best friend here...
Personally I found Hawkes gaming's, best start vids the best.
For a newbie.
However there are quite a few other content creators out there, that have published answers to almost everything...
D2AE & Exigious
Have an enormous back catalogue of vids on most things.
Most of these are pre Odyssey, but are still very relevant.
There are some other older content creators that have not done much for a while, but are still great to watch such as Vindicator Jones.

There are lots of others to, however these four are a good place to start.
Unfortunately, this forum can be very hit & miss.
Discords such as:
Hawkes gaming's & D2EA's
Are a better place to get good constructive answers from.

Good luck

P.S... NEVER FLY WITHOUT THE REBUY... 😎

make the most of the newcomers area you will learn more here if you ask questions in community chat.. if you make a mistake wipe and start again, you should be able to re-use the same name you spent all week creating

Time-zone may be a limiting factor; there are players here from many! Are you still in the starter zone? Those of us who may be able & willing to help likely can't be with you if you still are.

Another tip: one good thing about the starter zone is that you can goof around, make mistakes, and learn a lot before you leave. It's good to take the time and do that at the beginning.
Don't feel rushed to get great at this game right away. This just leads to frustration. Take your time. It will be much more fun. Do things that catch your curiosity without worrying about an overall direction for a while. You can learn a lot this way.

As stated above, YouTube is your best friend. Also, content creators Hawkes Gaming, Exegious, were extremely useful in getting started for me. I was watching both of those creators more than playing the game for a while. Also, in my opinion, if you decide to do something, make a commitment to it. If you mine today, fight tomorrow, transport the day after it seems to take forever to make any progress. For example, if you want the Jameson Memorial unlock, do it. Do the grind for a day or two until you have it. Same with Empire/Federation ranks to get the ships. Same goes for everything... unlocking engineers, system permits, etc. Good luck. See you in the black. o7
