How do I surrender??

Just startwed using a Type 9 as a passenger ship and transpoirting some clients. Get interdicted and cannot fight the interdiction in a Type 9! The pirate was asking for someone on my ship - how do I surrender and let him have whoever they are after?? Or do I just get blown up for my trouble!!

throttle to zero to submit to the interdiction (probably the right thing to do in a T9). ofc if they're after a passenger they will probably kill you.

Git Gud.... tis what some 1337s will tell ya.. not seen any of that nonsense for a while so maybe there still learning how to git gud

ok lets rephrase that, it takes is practice.. practice...practice.. learn how to evade interdiction in smaller ships first then upgrade to a ship with a higher massif its you vs NPC.

if its you vs player then experience, practice and a small sacrifice may help.. starting with pet, child spouse depending how GUD your opponent is. but even then (apparently) your more likely to loose

my personal experience when flying a T9 vs NPC
throttle down to the bottom of the blue zone, just above the surrender limit and try to fly towards the escape vector.. if you get close to winning hit max throttle.. start loosing reduce throttle.. maybe its just me but pumping works most of the time but not always.. some would call this a fluke
ok so im not 100% sure throttle has any real effect during supercruise for turn speeds but it does give me something else think about other than being interdicted

if you loose then full pips to shields until you stabilise your ship
then full pips to engines
pop a heat sink
and boost .. boost until you can escape

If you really insist on using T9 for passengers hauling then is good idea use some of internal space for defense and engineer thrusters for maximum speed (dirty + drag special). You can also add few mines and use them for little distraction (engineered mines are good) even though npcs will mostly evade (but still they may lose time and you can gain some distance = less damage). T9 can be pretty decent fortress but not with basic equipment. The bad on this ship is poor interdiction evasion and slow speed. Much easier choice is use of T7, which is perfect passenger hauler and actually can very nicely evade interdiction (+ is much cheaper vs T9). It’s up to your skills and experience, big costly ships usually need more work before you can have better use from them (if you want to maintain some decent lvl of safety).

Install a fighter bay, hire a good pilot.
After interdiction, deploy fighter, boost away hit "J", and keep boosting.
Usually the fighter will delay your opponent until you jump. You lose the fighter...

Rinse & repeat

honestly the type 9 is prob the easiest to beat an interdiction in, but with any ship i have, i throttle down to JUST ABOVE zero and its so easy i can almost put the controller down. PVP interdictions are a whole different matter tho.....

if u know u CANT beat the interdiction, throttle to zero, as soon as u drop out turn towards the attacker, 4 pips to engines, hit chaff and boost, fly past him keep hitting boost till your fs cooldown ends, then jump out. works every time

ok then, eject the person the pirate is interested in, when the pirate goes to scoop him up ram the pirate, finally salvage escape pod.

Throttle does nothing above submission threshold, it's just in your head.
