Never let an awkward looking rock formation put you off!Sometimes I see a post and think I'm on this thread. I post some stuff, then realize I'm not in this thread.
And it's awkward.

Conspiracy theory!! Had to do a google search for this word.... 3rd entry down.... http://www.etterretningen.no/tag/unodin/Is that like unodin?
As my mother and my aunt used to say "irregardlessly thereof" to point out the absurdity.irregardless is the word that you hear a lot that doesn't exist (yet)
I always here this in the sentences similar to, "can you unthaw something for dinner?" or "my mother unthawed steak for the BBQ tomorrow"unthaw is like some 1984 doublespeak language.
like the word freeze has been banned... and so we are only allowed to use thaw and unthaw to describe the process.
Scripting is fun. So is cron.View attachment 256629
Loads of fun here, as always. But its that time of day when I have to go move some collections of bits from one server to another. (<thinking to oneself> maybe I should automate that)
Irregardless of whether you think it exists, say it long enough and it goes in the dictionary! As my mother and my aunt used to say "irregardlessly thereof" to point out the absurdity.

And whats going through my mind is Oh great, we're having frozen steak again".

You haven't lived if you haven't converted it to PowerShell...Scripting is fun. So is cron.
(Sort of, well, when I works...)
Ohhhhh, but its a much larger conspiracy than that...so they just need to know what the actual definition of thaw is and be introduced to the word freeze.
not sure why that's localized... maybe the school there sucked hard (maybe still does). Luckily it's not widespread cuz I've never heard it in passing.
Yeah, generally PowerShell one liners for the win!You have the wrong (Darth) End of the stick - PowerShell is awesome!
Give me a twenty line vbscript and I can generally throw out a 3 line PowerShell to replace it. Batch script... pfft...
While I grant that you COULD be right, it doesn't seem to be the direction they're heading, quite the opposite in fact.powershell isn't as bad as old school bat cmd ...whatever they called windows/dos scripting before powershell.
couple more years and windows will basically be a UI on top of linux. How's that for optimism.

You what I discovered the other day. You know those bloody Brocade fibre-channel switches that need an outdated version of Java that's been hacked into pieces and never updated, and works if the wind is blowing in the right direction and no-one is humming Rick Astley...While I grant that you COULD be right, it doesn't seem to be the direction they're heading, quite the opposite in fact.
I use Windows hosted Ubuntu on a daily basis.
Yes - that is literally how it feels!
