Unable to scan exobiology with composition scanner or sampling tool.

I've scanned dozens of planets' exobiology and this is the only one where I've had this issue. Is this a known issue, and if so is there a work in progress to fix?

Both bacteria and stratum sometimes need to be searched for a scanning area/point a bit. In most cases they can be scanned around the edges, while standing outside, and not in the middle of the "colony". I still think it's a bug but anyhow, I haven't met a single not-scannable-at-all organism since update 2, or maybe 3.
