I was wondering if it was actually a lighthouse, and was marked as a star by mistake?
This has been happening to me since exactly yesterday. Mostly with gas giants. I scan them and then they go completely black and it weirds me tf out.
Credits wise, there is a point to scanning gas giants with water/ammonia life, right? Please tell me I'm not wasting my time on those.

The invisible sun is probably something to do with the fixed lighting in update 6. No stars, no lights, no problems
