Thargoids killed.

However, the tactic to kill one it's exactly the same... but grindier... more shots to open the heart, more shots to exert it, you get the point. And the damage dealt by H doesnt matter if one is able to cold orbit and can aim steadily.
This is not exactly true though. You can kill a cyclops with the same tactics used for a hydra, sure. But the reverse is not really true. You can get away with so many things on a cyclops that a hydra will absolutely demolish you for.

The damage done is also highly relevant because only a handful of pilots at most have the skill to cold orbit well enough and consistently enough to not take any damage at all. In fact, 100% hydra without repairs has been completed by exactly two pilots.

The arguably best ship for AX combat is the Alliance Chieftain. Krait mk2 is also among the best.

Here is an example of a Chieftain in action against a medusa and two basilisks:
was this video take in Horizon or Odyssey ? you do know it doesn't work like this anymore. this is 100% not like fighting thargoids looks like. if that was in real game, you were dead in less then 30 secs. this videos must have been taken when Horizon was released and thargoids were full of bugs. you could kill interceptors like you kill scouts now, back then.

That is verifiably false. Apart from some changes to flak and some visuals, nothing really changed apart from the interceptor’s shutdown field becoming broken.

You certainly could never kill interceptors like scouts.

news flash....you can't kill a thargoid anymore by just shooting at it. I don't know what, how and when you did this video but this video is full of fake crap.
This video was made by one of the top AX pilots out there - EuanAB - not myself. He is not killing them by just shooting them. He is killing them by exerting the hearts and taking them out one at a time. If you do not realize this kill is legit you certainly have some issues with AX combat.

bull crap. you can clearly see he wasn't even hitting medusae heart.

you know what they say, if it is too good to be true.......

Just because you personally lack the skill to do this does not make it impossible.

I am the commander in the video. From what I see here, you do not understand the mechanics of AX at all. To destroy an interceptor, you first must exert the heart by shooting anywhere on the interceptor, and once the heart is exerted you can then snipe it to destroy it. Hydra in particular has 8 of these hearts, which require around 30s to exert and at least 4 shots of 2 medium 2 small gauss to destroy. As for the damage, there is a technique known as cold orbiting where you stay below 20% heat and away from the interceptor's boresight, and it cannot land shots on you. Going shieldless negates the swarm as they have terrible aim and you then have a much smaller hitbox. Overall, combining these tactics to kill 7 hydras is extremely challenging, but not impossible by any means.

I can see heart lighting up, I don't see you shooting at it. when was a last time you tried to kill interceptor ? I would LOVE to see you doing it in Odyssey.

I'm sorry but don't blame it on Solo players, your system is under Odyssey attack. I'm in Alici system doing all kind of damage to anarchists by completing Odyssey missions. Odyssey missions like Sabotage, Raid, Digital or Covert Infiltration will cause havoc to any Faction. I can cause civil war by myself in a system overnight by completing few of these missions. I play in Open (by myself, no squardon) and I can prove to you that you cant stop me from creating a Civil War in your faction overnight. What is your faction system ?

Of that I have little doubt. I get the impression you could start an argument in an empty room and I dare say you're quite familiar with empty rooms.

4 shots with 4 guardian guass cannons will light up basilisks heart.

I have never even seen a Thargoid. Killing a sentient species doesn't appeal to me.
It's a shame that there are not ways of gaining influence with Thargoids actually.

You do realize you are not doing anything but making yourself a laughing stock of the larger part of the AX community with your posts here, right?

Not if your aim and firing rate sucks, no it won't. If you have decent aim and a good firing rate, yes it will. In fact, it will exert in 3 shots with 4 mediums if you actually do the math. With 2 mediums and 2 smalls, it will exert in 4 volleys with good firing rate and aim.

Sure, join the AXI discord and I can kill any goid in odyssey, live. I'll be returning from an exploration trip next week so see you there.

Btw, Euan is an XBox cmdr so he can't play oddysey.
