How is it possible though with the high temperatures? When I make pork snacks it involves heat that would make any bacteria fizz like cheap coke.No one tell @Darth Ender about the salmonella.
that's not bacon, that is pork belly. Bacon has some significant amount of meat and not that much fat.

I imagine its someone 'scratching the pork' later in the production perhaps.
The FSA said testing had found a link to 176 reported cases of salmonella poisoning across the UK between September 2020 and the present date. Public Health England said at least 12 people had been treated in hospital, but it was not aware of any deaths.

I'd imagine its more a case of the factory being riddled with salmonella than a batch of scratchings being bad. Cross-contamination essentially.
