Why do the DLC's have so few animals

More Animals per DLC would be really nice. I don't expect them to create only extremely different Animals but as I wrote in another Thread, the South America Pack would've been the perfect Opportunity to also include extremely similar Animals like the Quanaco and the Wedge-capped Capuchin. Maybe they could've also added a additional Species of Poison Dart Frog.

I agree that reskins (actual reskins, not similar animals) would do wanders to the biodiversity of the game.

Why do dlc's have such few animals in them?

Because Frontier realized they could intentionally omit flagship species from the base game. And then they realized they could charge $10 American, or 10£ for 3 or 4 imaginary animals (and people will still buy the dlc since Oceanian, South American, and Arctic species don't come with the base game)

It was a way to do the least amount of work and still profit off of the Planet Zoo fanbase.

Considering the work going into each animal, and how they forked 3/7 animals when they tried going for more than 4, I think they are actually limited at 4 (quality) animals. Maybe they have a small team.

I don't like this negativity. Of course I'd be happy for more animals, but in fairness they owe us nothing, and the previous packs were very reasonably priced. You act as if they failed to deliver something they owe you.

Just to clarify they don't owe me anything.

And ALSO, they could not even make 7 animals properly for SEA.

That's right.

They made eight :^)

Assuming you mean reskins as in, say, Masai giraffe, Grevy's zebra, American flamingo, maybe even going so far as the black and white ruffed lemur or Asian water monitor... Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. To my understanding these sorts of animals ought to be able to be released without the need for any new sounds or behaviors. Admittedly I have no way of knowing just how much work would need to go into new flavor text and adjusting all of the various species statistics, but I'm pretty certain it'd be a fraction of the work necessary for a "new" animal. And I do think that something as simple as having a choice for which giraffe subspecies you use would make every zoo that much more personalized.

At this point, I'm really not sure adding reskins would be a good thing.

Maybe for biodiversity reasons, yes.
But if you add 5 'new' animals and 2 reskins in an animal pack, that wouldn't sit well with the overall community.

Quite a while ago, a lot of people wanted a reskins (or similar) animal pack but i think that mood shifted somewhat.

People suggested a "biodiversity pack" for the anniversary, which I think is a great idea.

-Mexican wolf based off the Arctic wolf rig and model
-Black-and-white ruffed lemur based off the red ruffed lemur
-American flamingo based off the greater flamingo
-Asian water monitor based off the Nile monitor
-Dromedary based off the domestic Bactrian camel, for the memes

Either for free, or like $5 for the anniversary. People would go nuts for this.

People want a (free) anniversary update/content, so basically everything is accepted as a good thing.
If the biodiversity pack was the regular DLC (3 to 4,5 month waiting period) people wouldn't consider that a good thing.

Hell I'm surprised Frontier hasn't done microtransactions for new species. I for one would fork over $2-3 a month for a new animal. That'd be a wonderful way to boost involvement as well as fill out some gaps in the species roster.
Sounds like a good Idea with a fair Price. I would absolutely love it. Maybe they could additionally also create Things like Mini Packs that include Stuff like new Plants (in my Opinion the Plant Options are not varied enough. Especially tropical Plants)
