Space zen. Not space madness.

I will admit that long distance exploration is an exercise in meditation. At first, I went through a terrible existential crisis. The solitude, the absolute emptiness where I began to question everything from my journey to my purpose in life to the "why" of everything. The meaning behind every single star and every single atom that it was composed of. It was maddening as I saw no end to my journey.

I must have collapsed because when I came to, I was at peace. My perspective had altered somehow and as I looked out my cockpit, I felt at "one" with the universe.

I suspect in the future when long distance space travel becomes a reality, many will leave "explorers" but will return as Buddhist sages.
