How long will JWE2 be supported?

I know they are not prepared to set any term life constraints at this time. Heck the game has not even launched yet.

It will boil down to how well the game does vs ROI (return on investment). IMO, a 2yr window for DLC, improvements, and bug fixes feels right. Hopefully the game does well enough to extend that window and cause development of JWE3. If not, the window will be shorter and no 3rd iteration of the game.

Now? No!

Later? Maybe. As long as it doesn't become a neverending charade of cloned games coming every year. I'm far more in support of an experience like planet zoo, lots of substantial DLC and support.

And engine updates
If anything I think evolution 3 would prob come in ten years when universal inevitably reboots the franchise ( prob won’t be under the name Jurassic world tho) so they can suck every possible penny out of it

I would be very carefull with wanting it to be more like PZ. I do not want JWE2, or any iteration of JWE to become a PZ clone.

Anymore like PZ and you can kiss a console version goodbye.

In fact I'm personally tired of hearing 'they do it in PZ, so they can do it in JWE*'.

There is a reason PZ is a PC exclusive title, combination of CPU & GPU & RAM specificly prevents it from running even on the newest consoles. PZ would have to be dumbed down to the point that the PZ fanboys and the delusional super console players would cry that it's not the same.

Yes the Series X/S & PS5 perform better then a lot of PCs, but there are a lot of, what I call 'entry level' gaming pcs, that quite frankly would struggle running PZ.

Don't believe me?Just look up the RECOMMEND system specs to run PZ. They are greater then what the current consoles can do.

I'm in favor of lots of dlc, support, and new features that do not raise the hardware requirements too much. In time, yes I want a JWE3, that addresses the shortcomings that JWE2 has, all games have things that could have been done better or could not be done due to the limitations of the game engine used. If there would be a JWE3, that's a great thing. It means JWE2 was successful and the 'bean counters' deem that there is a profit to be made on another iteration. That's good for everyone.

Hey, if JWE were PC only, I'm sure it would be just as good. Maybe better.

If its 2006 and the latest console is the xbox 360 you might have a point but the latest generation of consoles the ps5 and xbox series x and s eat the recommended specs for breakfast.

Also is Planet Coaster not already running on current and previous generation consoles and their recommended specs are almost comparable to PZ.

For Planet Coaster, yes it is, but the console version is a dumbed down version of the PC edition.

Yes the current 'super' consoles probably can run PZ, but a dumbd down version.

What everyone fails to realize is that on a console, RAM is shared between the CPU & GPU, where as on a PC the CPU and GPU have seperate dedicated ram. This makes a huge difference in FPS and the amount of instructions the CPU can process. It also frees up the CPU from having to render graphics, which allows the CPU to process twice as many mips then otherwise. This is a must for CPU intensive calculations.

As you add more features, the load on the CPU and GPU go up.

A console can not be upgraded, so the only recourse to keep the game running smoothly is to dumb down the graphics and or not add features that would firewall the system. A PC is upgradeible, more ram and better graphics cards can be added over a period of time.

Yes games look great on the super consoles as long as they've been designed with the hardware limitations in mind and optimized to run on that system.

So the argument 'that they do it on pc so it should be on console' is a failacy.

Getting back to the OPs topic, support is different from DLC, so even if a number is given, it's just how long bugfixes will be a thing for.

The Switch complete edition claimed 2 years of DLC, which made me a bit miffed at the time.

Because of the late year release, I feel that a proper 2 years is plausible (if it's 1.5 again, they miss out on the holidays, granted the final Planet Coaster DLC was mid year).
