Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Did you watch that?

The complainant argued it was not clear enough that the "Concept Ships" may "never be available"

The ASA investigate and issued an advisory for more clarification, they did not make any specific comment on the complainants point of contention.
It's what you would do if you didn't think the complaint was justified but the defendant could also do better.

CIG responded that concept ships will be available once complete and purchasers of concept ships are given an equivalent flyable loaner ship in the interim.
A pretty strong and to the point rebuttal.

What the complainant wanted was specific wording that states you might not actually get anything for your money, that is not going to happen and the complainant is not happy.
Its an unreasonable request to make, unless the ASA think Star Citizen is a Ponzi Scheme. They Don't.

I did watch it. I made no comment whether i agreed with the opinions of the video creator or not.

I think the ASA did a good thing asking CIG to make things clearer. I think maybe the ASA should take a look at the rest of CIG's marketing materials as well.

Yeah, as i said some pages back some added clarity would be a good thing.

Personally i think selling ships in concept is unessesary at this point, they are knocking out 2, 3, 4 even 5 new and completed ships every quarter these days so why not just keep doing that?

$300 would buy several flyable/finished planes in DCS. Just sayin`
$300 would also buy a new set of tires for my Harley...or replace my wife's favourite vacuum cleaner that I took out to the field and shot with my 12 bore after it refused to work. I'll never hear the end of that one...it's almost as bad as the box of Maltesers she left in the fridge that I ate 30 years ago... she feels duty bound to remind me about them every year as some form of penance

Oh damn, Harley has some cheap tires. Would only buy a front tire for a sports bike. But I guess the sides don't get used much on a Harley tire 😅

Makes sense. Don't see the problem at all here.
'R' rated tires...not the multi-compound butter that sports tires are made from. I get 17k out of my back tire before it needs changing, 20k out of the front...and mine are worn down to the chicken line, pointless having a big loud bike if you don't chuck it about ;)

While i agree, i find it funny that the only thing they can consistently produce is ships, and considering how many ships there are and the current state of the game, its not like the game really needs new ships. Of course, they are bound to produce ships they have already sold, so it makes sense to do them anyway. Just a shame the mechanics for some of them don't exist yet and may not for years.

With the new inventory layout, it would make sense to stockpile items in some secret hideaway on a planet or moon. This is a workaround for personal inventory limitations.

What I'm wondering is how many items players can put out on a celestial body before it becomes overloaded and glitches out of the system completely.

I know, I know, you can drop that coffee mug and leave it for a year, and anyone can arrive at that location to find it. But we've also seen golf carts vibrating and exploding out of existence, which is why I kind of want to see this put to the test.
