Odyssey won't start but Horizons is fine.

I bought the Odyssey DLC on Steam today and, after downloading the update, I can start the launcher, select Odyssey and Start the game. The loading screen comes up, the pre-render dialogs etc. and I get to the menu and can configure controls and graphics and so on...

but...

When I hit "Start", the screen flickers and... nothing else happens. I'm still at the menu.

Any ideas? Anyone seen this before? I've searched all the log files I can find and there's nothing that looks telling so I'm stumped and disappointed.

Edit: In case it matters, I can go back to the launch and select Horizons and it's all fine and works as before.

Just the usual verify files, log out/in, and log out machine. You might need to force the launcher to update account status. Shooting in the dark at this one, really.

Can confirm. Broke for me as well. Filed with issue tracker. You are not alone. Validation and sync did not help.

Haha, I waited a few months since alpha when everything was borked and decided to try it today. Same issue. I guess I'll wait until Spring 2022 before trying again... Should have enough credits for the fleet carrier anyway.

Welll the same here... i just bought Odyssey for my alt (free Elite from Epic) and it just does not go into mode selection after you play start, it just flicker and goes back to menu. my main account is ok, so I think it is only with new bought accounts.

My account is my orginal so it isnt only new accounts effected. I did however buy the expansion only yesterday so perhaps its effecting recently purchased Odesseys? Who knows, I just wanted to play before work this weekend. Validating files, logging out and in etc did not resolve this issue.

I've had Odyssey since release. Now I'm locked out.

There were at least 3 tickets regarding the issue last time I checked. Yes, no point in holding our breath. Good thing we still have Horizons. For now....
