I've had a few Questions in the Thread about it, that weren't answered. The most important ones are : will it also affect the Area outside of the Zoo? And will those Maps have no Foliage? (I want to get a proper antarctic Map without any Trees ruining the Realism)Custom Heightmaps are making their way to Planet Zoo! These will allow you to really get creative with your map terrain via uploading image files
Nice to read this. I've already built the Outdoor Pool for the Jaguars back then in my Japanese Zoo deep enough because of the Assumption that they'll be able to do it somedayFollowing the Bears from the 1.6 Update, some of our big cats will be getting their paws wet with Deep Swimming. The cats taking the plunge will be:
- Jaguar
- Bengal Tiger
- Siberian Tiger
Thanks, finally we can build proper Giant Otter Enclosures without them just swimming on the Surface. Will it be mentioned in the Zoopedia how deep the Water needs to be for a specific Species? To go alongside this, we're also implementing some tweaks to the swimming depth requirements for individual species. This should allow diving turns for deep swimming animals to remain smooth, while also preventing clipping! Minimum depth requirements range from 2-4m
Those Seating Areas are awesome. I really like them. They will be perfect for the Peafowl Show I'm attempting to create in my Wildpark and it might also be really nice in my Orangutan Breeding Center on Borneo. Also definitely awesome in Front of Underwater Viewing Areas.Pick one of our new talk-specific seating options and link an Animal Talk Point to it, and guests will now be able to sit and really give their full attention! But don't fret, you will still be able to use the Animal Talk Points as standing attractions as well. What animal will you pick as your first to have its very own seated education area?
Thanks a lot for this. Finally we can add Things like Statues and Fountains in the Middle of Paths without Things getting weirdOn top of the new Seating Areas to help you control your Zoos guest flow, we're also adding Path Barriers! These will render areas of path inaccessible to guests and staff alike
Definitely really excited for this one. Finally Forests where not 99%of the Plants are in the same PositionWe know this will be a game-changer for foliage and rock-heavy builds. What are you most excited to use this on?
If it's true that it'll be a North America Pack, which is really likely from what I've read, there's still a ChanceI thought we were getting Bigfoot
No but for real, this is some really cool stuff. Love the adjustment to swimming depths![]()
4th october is world animal day. Not surprising for me.Also, very strange that itâs a Monday release
I am not ruling out a mechanic in game but I'm not sure how often beavers in zoos actually build dams. I think I've only ever seen them with artificially constructed ones. Not seen many so may be totally wrong!Love all that is coming. Finally my dwarf caimans might be using the feeder! About all the terrain changes, nothing about terrain painting, like yellow grass on a temperate map?
Apart from that, another great update and I really wonder how they going to deal with the beaver's dam building part? (if the beaver makes it to the next dlc)I can think of several ways.
I can't imagine a zoo would want to encourage a captive animal to mess with the waterflow in their habitat...I am not ruling out a mechanic in game but I'm not sure how often beavers in zoos actually build dams. Oh I didn't realize that. Now I remember. I'm still surprised by it.4th october is world animal day. Not surprising for me.
Ah, my mistake. Read through the forum post too quickly and thought the DLC was going to be revealed at that time lolToday is hanging out with meeeee on the stream to chat about update 1.7 but also just to hang out with you all! I'll have a guest helping me out too to make it a cozy vibes stream![]()
Just wanted to drop by and give credit where credit is due. Great job frontier on another great update with some excellent new features. The main source of excitement for me tho is obviously the animal pack. Iâm kinda surprised by the fact itâs a animal pack honestly but it really doesnât matter to me if itâs a 4+1 or all animal either way itâs always exciting. 7 great animals with the beaver already announced. I feel the beaver is one of those game changing animals especially if it has the ability to construct a shelter and what not. The other 6 are a bit of a mystery and could literally be anything. I feel the alligator, moose, and puma are expected. Which leaves three roster spots. Lynx, bobcat, black bear, and big horn sheep wouldnât surprise me. Skunk, raccoon, prairie dog, mountain goat would make nice surprise animals. And of course a personal favorite of mine although not really expected would be a Great White Pelican would be a welcome addition to me. But always great to see frontiers ongoing dedication to a game we all love. Truly means more then you guys know. So super excited and canât wait to see the animals you selected for us. Honestly no bad choices as NA has many to choose from.
Yessssss! So much fantastic N.A. Desert scenery that was basically NEVER used. Obviously there for a reason, why would they make all of this foliage and have basically no animals able to use it.Very impressed with the Update. I hope we get some NA desert animals as the foliage for NA desert biome is top-notch.
