Horizons Recalled ship and it crashed on the surface

Help . I'm stuck on a planet.
I recalled my ship and it exploded on impact with the ground.
What do i do to get off the planet. ?
There are no baces on the ground.

I didn't know you could send your ship away and recall it. How do you do that and where does your ship go? Does the ship return to its original location on the surface or will it come to you if you have gone exploring in your surface vehicle. Sorry about the noob questions but these forums have always been a huge help to me. Thanks

Sorry,,, let me laugh for a second... has to be embarrasing your ship came down and boom... went into pieces, no joking at you... but i imagine the scenario if it happened to me and my face after watching it.

ejem!, now serious help:

if you definetly lost your ship that's a bug and you should open a ticket, there is some problem going on with how the game understands the real surface on the planet... recently i lost a srv because skimmers where fighting from inside the ground and i couldn't fire them back.

If you lost your ship, the only way to go is self destruction from the srv menu, and buy again the ship from the insurance, sorry but that's it

seems that you don't know many features of the game, you can dismiss your ship once you are in the srv, and recall it again at any moment.

I think FD will likely cover that one... If it ever happened in my over 20 mil rebuy Anaconda, pretty sure my face would be stuck like  .. for a couple minutes.

It is one of the options in the SRV screen that pops up.
It is a safe thing to do generally. Never had problems myself.
If you recall a ship it will seek a landing spot as close to you as possible, wherever you are on the planet..
It is very convenient and also looks very cool.

This way you can explore a planet and when you discover some goodies you can recall your ship and transfer the goods you found more easily.

Definitely dismiss your ship as it will be destroyed on the ground while your away from it sooner or later.

There is a problem with the autolanding systems.

Landing on a plant, planetary base or indeed an outpost will slam the ship onto the surface or pad at approx 20m/s or more.
Manually, I can land at 1-2 m/s.

This means than you need shields for planetary landings (turn off autodock for the others).
I picked up a 7 percentage point drop in hull strength from just 1 autolanding (exploring without shields just after the launch).

If your ship had little hull strength left or it was a high gravity world, than may explain the effect.

Your ship will automatically dismiss into orbit on its own once it is out of range of your scanner. But it still is best to send it away if you plan on doing some roving, just in case.

Have you tried logging off and then back in?

If logging back gets the OP back in the SRV without a ship to recall, it may be worth trying to log back in baseline Elite Dangerous instead of Horizons? Although it will likely bring up the ship rebuy screen, so at best it may only spare the cost of a new SRV.

This still happens and im sooooooo close to just stop playing this game!
