🍁 Planet Zoo: North America Animal Pack, coming 4 October 🍁

Just realizing this but is anyone else surprised that they used the Beaver as the headlining animal rather than the Moose or Cougar? Not that it matters, just seems an odd choice.

Oh gosh, no weird voting on social media this time? So not even the pack put the marketing is also perfect!

I was expecting the moose to be the poster animal at first, but after they reveiled the beaver on the stream, I though it might be the one. It works very well imo, its has the cute factor.
Was not expecting cougar to be the poster child at all, because we already have one dlc poster with a cat (jaguar for SA) so that could make them a bit confusing or unoriginal.

If that's the style for the animal signs in the game, I love it! I wish we had signs for all the animals in the game in that style!

If it's not, well, it's a nice map :)

If the bullfrog is from Ohio, which it looks to be, I'll be astounded lol. We are not a well known state abroad so the love would be felt haha!

The fox itself doesn't bother me, what bothers me the repetition of similar or expendable species (in this case, the expendable is the arctic wolf).

Let's see - we have 3 dogs that can be placed in similar enclosures, the 3 are found in North America and the 3 are found in the taiga biome.

Sounds to me like the fox came in response, as it was the animal most wanted for the arctic pack.

About the cougar, although it is an animal that I like a lot (a lot due to its geographical distribution), even though it is the nicest animal in the pack (in my opinion), I wouldn't mind receiving a bird in its place.

The pack in general pleased me a lot, we have rodents, plus a deer, plus a crocodilian, a sea lion.

But we have to expose what bothers us. I take it as a constructive criticism, not an empty complaint. Many players want to see more diversity in the game.
That is fair and I understand you voicing an opinion. on the other hand it bothers me I guess you could say on a personal level that alot of people are hating on the dogs being added while another big group of animals (cats) get praised for doing the same. I personally love dogs so I am thrilled to have another fox, so I am just offering a counter opinion that there are people who are happy with the pick.

But like I said, everyone has a time where we would say "I would rather pick something else instead of x" but I would prefer if people's joy of the pack did not get overshadowed because of one pick they would have choose differently. I think Frontier did amazing job on picking all kind of animals, but of course there is only so much they can pick for a pack. I am almost sure we will get more birds along the way!

With it being a hectic day at work I couldn't respond here yet, but oh my, I am extremely happy with this pack.

First of all, North America benefited the most from an animal pack in my eyes, and I feel that aside from the fact that these animals were all community picks (a pat on the back for the hard work of @random goat here!), all of these help us flesh out the game to a point where you can comfortably make several variations of a North America section in multiple zoos. Either by including them all or just a few, I feel like this rounds it out perfectly.

But more-so than with the South East Asia Pack ( which by all means, I love and I want each and every animal of), I feel like all of these animals can serve multiple functions in multiple sections. Beavers and prairie dogs are those cute and interesting animals that little kids love, an arctic fox can help us flesh out our arctic areas, a cougar is perfect for when we want to make a zoo in Florida that keeps rescued cougars, alligators can be used in reptile houses and crocodile/alligator farms, and of course sea lions are such a classic zoo animal that they can basically be used anywhere! This will certainly help with the longevity of the pack, and I hope to see many different takes in the coming months :D

Looking forward to having these in my zoos you all, it looks really amazing! :D

The one downside to this pack, other than the American Bullfrog: Now that I know I am getting a beaver, and cougar, I can't play until it drops. I also can't buy it until I am employed again. So I basically can't lay Planet Zoo until I'm working, andm ay not have the time to play it. Yay for my life...

Sorry if I sound grumpy but it’s a North America pack not a United States of America pack. It would have been appropriate to include Canada and Mexico in this road trip…
