In fairness, the top 4 ships in the showdown get a skin. The "champion" of the showdown I guess is just bragging rights and apparently a new backpack skin detailed after the winning ship? Not entirely sure. I don't keep up. The salt currently is that a ship that's pretty useless beat other ships purely due to a meme train. But then again, it's just a popularity contest for skins and nothing else. Everyone keeps saying this event is "fun" which I don't get. It's not like an ingame event or anything. Just some dumb voting. It's truly lackluster and the SC community clearly has nothing better to do if this is their bar for excitement.

Quite the opposite. The excuse 'I just followed orders' doesn't work even when one would be court-martialed for disobeying them. In case of Tyler Witkins he is profiting from his lies, and can quit making them any time he wants, but he doesn't. Why do you want to defend a willing participant of deception that costs people money?

Who cares, eh? It is totally irrelevant to CI-G course of action anyway, they cast a vote just to make the backers busy with pointless stuff while the money keep rolling.

No, I do not defend him, but if I have to point my finger at someone at CIG and call him “SCAMMER… SCAMMER…” it won’t be Mr Witkins.

At least even if SC croaks it those lovely screenshots will remain as some form of digital art. Will they be worth 400M USD? Probably not.
