Yeah. This title/issue threat should be the top priority for FDev
That's exactly how I read that statement.I think the important part of Arthur’s post is this:
“…we feel that for the purposes of aiding further development this issue tracker entry…is no longer providing us actionable feedback to improve the game, with recent contributions unrelated to the specifics of the original report.
We will therefore mark this issue as fixed following the update, freeing up those votes to contribute to other issues in issue tracker. Of course if you observe any specific instances of poor lighting, please open a new issue tracker entry giving specific feedback.”
That says to me that FDev don’t consider lighting completely fixed, just that this particular issue report isn’t useful anymore and more specific reports are required.
me either I assume skilled devs left the companyI find it difficult to imagine odyssey will ever make it to console.
Flimley
I'd be happy to be wrong, we'll see what happens. That's exactly how I read that statement.
I can't see how some players see what's written there as Frontier saying "...lighting's now been fixed, moving on...."![]()
True, I have to admit I did not read the opening post with enough thought so ended up hastily posting pics!you just proved OP's point that atmo light is not now what it was supposed to be with that "in game footage" (some might throw the card "but pre alpha gameplay footage bla bla bla, still not what it was supposed to be)
something like this:

Dear god, that's just sad at this point.
For a while I thought it was just me being paranoid, but I'm glad to see I was actually right in thinking star color wasn't affecting lighting anymore in EDO.Dear god, that's just sad at this point.
I think it's more likely the stone-age lighting system EDO uses, which can't even support more than one global light source in a game that SIMULATES THE MILKY WAY WHICH LIKE ALL GALAXIES HAS MORE MULTIPLE STAR SYSTEMS THAN SINGULAR ONES.I'd bet money it's simply disabled due to EDO's poor performance. Seeing as current ED consoles certainly couldn't run EDO even without the improved lighting that FD showcased, I'd also bet that not only are they not going to enable such lighting, but they will simply never bring it up again and pretend it never happened. Unless EDO's performance changes radically, there's no way they are ever going to deliver what they were selling the pre-orders on.
Screw voting for this (tho I did), I'd quite like an official response because the game is turning into a bit of a joke (tho I won't @ our favourite CM because they have many fires to put out and I imagine the whole team must be pretty overwhelmed at this point). You forgot to include the important bit:
Time to get those votes in if you’ve had any spare ones crop up after today’s Update![]()
True - it was an advertised feature!I can understand technical limitations, bugs, etc but what should be universally unacceptable is to advertise the game one way (the "red" tinted landscape in the first image) and deliver something completely different (the default tinted landscape in the second).
Thanks for the vote - it’s one possible way you’ll get to see an official response.Screw voting for this (tho I did), I'd quite like an official response because the game is turning into a bit of a joke (tho I won't @ our favourite CM because they have many fires to put out and I imagine the whole team must be pretty overwhelmed at this point).
