The binary logic one sometimes (well, okay, often) one finds with IT folks. Two stand outs for me:

On a mainframe (back in the day), we had Card Reader on port A, address P. It's acronym was exactly as above and in-line with the naming standards. So it stayed.

Then, many years and jobs later, there was the System's Engineers, eXperimental DEVelepment environment.

No. Really. When the IT director found out it's name got changed within the hour.

Sadly I had no part in naming either.
Company had a policy for email addresses - first initial plus last name. It got changed with a councilor took exception to being emailed by our Sharon Hatton... no-one wants an email from shatton...

It's not the only naming convention in that company that made it into the press. We had a worker whose surname was Peacock. He had a son - and named him Drew :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 🤯 They should have cut his stones off after that incident!
