I wish I could...

This is my 15th G5 suit and I'm pretty sure this is the last one I need to grind :devilish:

If they did that they'd have to stop selling pre-modded gear, because in about 1 hour on a Thursday you could collect a bunch of pre-engineered stuff and set yourself up without going near any Odyssey engineers*

* I don't go near them now, sticking to pre-engineered G3 stuff with maybe a G4 level added.

….hand in a mission and receive the reward I want, rather than poxy cash being foisted upon me once again.

Yes, it’s a whinge and a shameless one at that.

I visited and engineer to get extra carrying capacity for one of my G3 purchased suits... I think that is all of the 'grind' I did, I only did that as I already had the bits, of course, so didn't need to go out of my way to get them.

Missions have provided me that mats to upgrade suits and weapons, I'm not too bothered about most of the engineer additions otherwise.

I wish I could upgrade my Artemis Suit doing Explorer stuff instead of combat stuff.
This. Very annyoing Exploration, or ship things ™ don't help with Odyssey. I wish mission rewards would appear regardless of ship or foot mission.
Move them? I'd already be happy if we could delete them...
This...
Yep, I'd just settle for overwrite. Otherwise, it'd be cheesy to just buy the mods you want and put them on.
Yeah, overwrite please.
(And why does my german autocorrect wants to make Oberweite out of overwrite  )

I'm curious... if we could move suit and weapons mods around (like on ships)... wouldn't that have commanders "finishing" Odyssey fairly quickly? I guess my point is that the primary game loop here seems to be upgrading suits and weapons so that it is easier to gather materials to upgrade suits and weapons. Once all that material gathering is done does that leave us is with just combat zones?

The fact you can buy suits that have been upgraded to a certain degree exposes the core weakness in the current design - the fact you can't override or delete Odyssey engineering upgrades from suits and weapons. The ability to purchase these pre-upgraded items feels like some sort of attempt to make the current system plausible while not addressing the core design problem. Clearly the whole thing needs a rethink.

As I've said before, I will not engage with Odyssey engineering while we cannot overwrite or delete engineering as it feels like a perversion of what should be fun.

Having to bypass the problem by purchasing pre-upgraded suits or weapons just puts a big question mark on the whole Odyssey engineering system.

But some of the mats are pretty difficult to obtain. I'm OK with a challenge, don't get me wrong, but perhaps the amount of these "rarer" items could be reduced. For instance, five instead of ten digital designs.

What do you think?

I have 8 digital designs right now, picked up 2-3 yesterday I think, and I can't even remember what they're for.
