Ships The Famous Corvette Grind

So, I am on my way to get corvette. Wondering what the community did to get it knocked out? Any tips?

Or is it simply the Ceos run that needs to be done?

I do apologize, I simply wish to get this vehicle as quickly as possible. With having the most amount of fun. If i came across as an idiot I am sorry. I have only been playing this for 2 months. Maybe less

I want this ship, It looks incredible. I love my Anaconda and all my other ships. SO THIS is high on my list.

I simply wanted input & tips. Not sarcasm

Do it the way you like. I remember myself grinding by bottom off to get enough money and rank.
Money doing pax runs at Parutis and of course Rhea.
Don't remember where I was doing the rank grind, but I was like you, I WANTED that ship

Nowadays I have 3 Corvettes and 2 Cutters, and fly mostly mediums or smalls.

Whatever you do, don't burn yourself out.

Wow, how the game has changed... 2 months and you've got an Anaconda and are looking for the Corvette :O
I'd been playing for 3 years before I got an Anaconda, then another year to get the Cutter and about 8 months to get a Corvette. In those days, it wasn't really a grind, as you had to do so many missions to get the cash together for a big ship that the rank sort of came along as a side effect. The only real grind was that final run to Rear Admiral or Duke.

You're in the wrong forum for that - especially on a grey Saturday morning 😇

That said - no, any means to grind Fed rank/reputation. In my case, Turning The Wheel finally pushed me into the required rank (after 4 years or so of playing on this account - the other, older account isn't that far yet). While TDW is independent, a lot of the minor factions we need(ed) to push around in order to get TDW where we want it are Fed aligned - and no matter what you want to do to them, you want to be allied to get those juicy INF+++++ missions.

The dowside is that I don't fly my 'vette as much as I'd like to - a lot of systems only have medium pads, so it's usually one of my Kraits or the Viper.

Its a lot easier than it was, but the Vette is not worth burning your soul out for so take it easy and weave it into your activities rather than laser focus on it.

When I got mine years ago I was halfway to it and went bananas on the rest and.....it left me changed :D

Unfortunately some items have been created to be a reward for long time committment, but whenever something like that is introduced, there are people who want it now and self inflict a grind, only to blame it on poor game development, which is only partially true.
Surely, the way to access a final reward could be improved, not to make it quicker but rather to prevent the grind (which is always self inflicted): I am afraid that, unless you enjoy doing extremely repetitive, simple tasks for hours and hours, there is no fun way to obtain a Corvette quickly.
If you stick to federal space and do missions, you will get there eventually, otherwise you'll just come to a point where you get to hate the game for a self inflicted punishment.

There was a time when I wanted a Cutter. I tried one of the most famous mail delivery grinds for a few minutes and I couldn't bear it. At that point I just decided to keep playing normally and doing missions to my heart's content. The Cutters eventually came.
I appreciate that you might not have enough time to commit, so this could be much slower than you would like to.

One of the best ways to grind reputation is to save people from damaged stations. Unfortunately, this is an infrequent event, but it offers an activity that is generally fun and different.

Personal opinion corner, just for drama:
I have my Corvette. I like being inside it because in that way I do not see it. Along with the Anaconda and the Fer-De-Lance it is one of the ugliest ships in the game!

Not to say the Corvette is in any way a bad ship, it isn't, but I'm going to agree with anyone saying that the way you're better off doing this is just do missions in Fed space and have this as an incidental bonus at the end. I'm not aware of any quick way to get this anyway, just keep running the missions and building your reputation for the Federation in whatever way you enjoy.

The ship is expensive to buy and outfit, so you're going to want plenty of credits from all those missions you're doing. It also takes up a good chunk of materials to engineer and really, when it comes down to it the only thing I find it can do that most of my other ships can't is complete a high intensity CZ without synthing ammo.

I say this because since there is seemingly no quick method of unlocking this ship, I wouldn't make owning one a short term goal. If you're happy doing Ceos runs, go for it, but I know the way I did it isn't viable anymore as it relied on 2 stations that constantly had missions for each other. I wouldn't have focused on getting one if that route didn't exist.

This is true, but doesn't come often... I did most of mine either courier running in a Cobra Mk IV or solo-ing wing trade missions in a Cutter. But like so many others have said, if you simply grind for a Corvette it's soul destroying, and then there's the follow-up grind to A-Rate and engineer it. It's best to simply just play the game and let the rank come. I left the Corvette late into my time as I always thought I wouldn't like it (I flew one in an early Beta test and hated it), but now I have one I love it. I've got it kitted out for combat, and solo through Wing massacre missions barely losing a ring of shield (as I'm on the last stages of trying to get Combat Elite to complete the triple).

As said above, the best way is to just stick to Federal space, rank up with the local factions and just do missions that interest you and the ranks will come.

The game is incredible, I love every aspect of it. But i also LIVE for the grind. I can happily sit here, Sing S club 7 & drop data missions all day.

Thank you all for your input! Truly thank you! I love this community & how welcoming you all are. I have been at this for 2 months. But have over 300+ hours on it. I want the corvette for a simple reason. I want to cause mayhem :) (Plus my mate GraveHawk wants it. An i want it before him but currently he is ahead.)

I made it to Ensign today.

Much love <3

The best way to get a Corvette is was at burning stations, where you could do around 100 missions an hour. Theoretically, you could do that, but I'm not sure if FD have permanently fixed it by not allowing federation factions in the burning station's anymore. It's always worth checking anyway.

Other than that, do a Google search. There are some anomalous stations that give massive numbers of delivery missions to the same locations and back. IIRC, the record for getting a Corvette was three days from starting the game in the Sidewinder using that method.

Get allied with the Fed factions in Sothis and Ceos and specifically doing missions for them is a fun start.
Get allied with all factions in Robigo, Sothis and Ceos then other opportunities open up later as in making
lots of credits and a few G5 mats to outfit/engineer that shiny new Corvette!

As for dedicated data missions here's one from Dec 2019...Ochosi Runs. Hopefully Odyssey didn't change it.

Ngallin to Mainani was also popular for data mission runs. Generally ranking up with the Feds is the fastest in the game.

Then go crazy with a Corvette build. To each their own desires.

My honest opinion join a player made faction group that's either Federation or in Federation space. From working my PMF I went from Rear Admiral to Admiral in 2 weeks which is impressive. The Sothis/Ceos grind became less effective because they populated another system near them.

I stacked pirate massacre missions in systems with lots of Federal factions to unlock the Corvette, and had fun while doing it in my engineered Krait mk2.

Ironically, after buying a Corvette and outfitting it I've never actually used it for anything (yet, anyway).
