I blame paleolithic humans.and the large megafauna niche is still empty.
Greenland is still part of the kingdom of Denmark but with a high autonomous status. But regarding to geographics I would also put it more to North America than Europe.Ah I see. Greenland is associated with Europe due to being colonized by Norway and Denemark in the past, but it is sovereign today.
I guess I wouldn't call wild boar or red deer megafauna? They're not that big, especially when you consider the actual megafauna that once roamed Europe, of which wisents are one of the last few remnants.I blame paleolithic humans.
On a series note, I think the Red Deer and Wild Boar are much more versatile and unique for a megafauna slot over a wisent, but I think it would fit really well into a biodiversity/reskin pack

And yeah, paleolithic humans. Of course we don't know if they caused megafauna extinctions, but they might be part of it. I wish we still had all those species alive today... Though honestly, had they been alive until recent times, they would have surely been hunted to extinction in the middle ages. Gone extinct just like the aurochs and tarpan.
By the way, I just realized that the moose is a megafauna species found in Europe (once the game extends its range into Europe, I thought there was something finicky going on there).
So 1 European megafauna slot is hopefully already filled.
I have no idea what the exact definition is. I'll take your word for it.I thought megafauna was any animal which weughs more than 45kg
Wikipedia says 45kg, I trust it enoughI have no idea what the exact definition is. I'll take your word for it.
The middle east would beg to differ. I can easily make an Asia desert animal pack. What is left for colder asia anyway? Wolverine, amur leopard, Saiga... although I do wish we could have more if they ever restore the mammoth steppe.I would say we should get separate Europe and Asia packs. We can easily make animal packs for each continent.
But if it's Asia, I want a big boost for colder climates. I don't mind 1, maybe 2 tropical animals, but I want the rest to be cold climate (with 1 or 2 desert animals)
I agree. Basically, I want a couple more cold climates, add in a desert or 2, and 2 tropical. That way, I feel like Asia is more or less round out (excluding the desert animals. But we can also put together a Desert DLC, too)The middle east would beg to differ. I can easily make an Asia desert animal pack. What is left for colder asia anyway? If there's an extra desert pack, than this one is perfect. Maybe I'd trade the raccoon dog for a wild horseI agree. An ideal Asian pack for me would be something like:
- Golden pheasant - tropical
- Lion-tailed macaque - tropical
- Arabian oryx - desert
- Hamadryas baboon - desert
- Musk deer - cold
- Amur leopard - cold
- Raccoon dog - cold
- Japanese giant salamander - cold
Ideally I'd like animals which could go in a desert safari habitat together, like arabian oryx, onager, sand gazelles and nubian ibex, but they are all unlikely.I hope we get Middle East stuff... I’m trying to replace my old NA area so I can build a new one with the new animals included between SA and arctic areas but I can’t until I have a replacement for that area. The perfect replacement would be Middle East because it would start my Silk Road Asia section by connecting with India then the Far East. IMO the Africa packs disconnect of scenery with animals hurt me a ton because the scenery is perfect for that area but I can’t build an area with just fennec foxes and scarab beetles
I'd love the blackbuck. A perfect mix for the Indian rhinoceros and peafowl. TBH it's really the last Indian habitat animal that I desperately want (plenty of others I still want, of course, but the blackbuck would be enough for me).blackbucks
Yep, except i’d like a grey langur too.I'd love the blackbuck. A perfect mix for the Indian rhinoceros and peafowl. TBH it's really the last Indian habitat animal that I desperately want (plenty of others I still want, of course, but the blackbuck would be enough for me).
Also, I’d prefer these in a different pack to Eurasia - India / SEA has had a good run already and we need to give the Middle East, Central Asia, Western Asia and Europe some love.I'd also like blackbucks and axis deer for Indian safaris.
Honestly, I'll take them all.Recently I've seen people bring up the idea of a "Eurasia" DLC instead of a solely Europe one, just in case Frontier were to see Europe alone as not sellable enough. I think Europe could work, but I also could see Europe and North Asia together (the temperate, taiga, and tundra parts of North Asia specifically) working really well together. I threw together a concept for such a pack just to see how appealing it could look:
