Anyone else considering giving Odyssey a thumbs upon Steam, after the last patch?

I think i've finally reached a point where i can play Odyssey to some extent, and enjoy myself to 'some' extent. It's true settlements can still be very choppy, and although i wouldn't like to see the framerates of an all-out ground battle, i actually had a firefight for the first time at a crash sight at around 45 fps, and it was fun. I'm also still waiting for planets to be fixed, but i think 5 months on from that godawful release, the hard work the team have been putting in means i can see light at the end of the tunnel, and they've earned some recognition, like that dreadful Just-for-Men advert, i think 'it's time'. I'll add a caveat on the review that you better have a decent PC to enjoy Odyssey, but for me at least it's finally the moment to push that thumb's up.

Anyone else feel the same? Or are you still holding out? (if you haven't already given it the blue light)

I wouldn't consider giving Odyssey a positive review until the performance is flawless at recommended specs.

Even past the performance the awful buggy state the game released in and currently still is in deducts many points that future updates would have to make up for to get to a net positive or just neutral state for me.

I want to like the game and I've managed to enjoy it, but it is by no means objectively good and I wouldn't recommend it,

After seeing Halloween pumpkin helmets in the Odyssey store I'm not sure I recognize the game. I don't have Fortnite in Steam library, sorry.
We've had corny holidays-themed stuff for ages grandpa. No need to pout, I think your favourite TV show is about to go on. Let's have a little looksie shall we? I know, I know, this isn't real music like it used to be but it's just a commercial, it'll pass.

When the game leaves beta state and things work out, perhaps i can think about it.

Still, why would i ignore the fact that i have been fooled since day 1 with Odyssey release and all other lies and mistakes that came with it? The current Steam reviews are a consequence of bad decisions from FDev not an act of violence from the community lol

In the future, when the game is ready to pass console quality control, let's recall FDev decided to call it a full release on may 19th of 2021.

If it wasn't the case that bit by bit the game is improving noticeably, then i wouldn't have made this post. It isn't just wishful thinking that's making me change my review, it's the intent i'm seeing from the updates as they are coming along, despite it not running as well as Horizons, yet for the first time since Odyssey's release i'm actually starting to see the quality behind it, and regained my belief in the game redeeming itself, i honestly think it's on that trajectory now, and for my own part i feel if isupport it then it makes that outcome more likely.

yeah i'm still angry at the way Odyssey was released, there was no excuse for it, (i think less of Braben than i used to if i'm being honest), but i'd much rather the game didn't die, we are after all fans i suppose, and that's for a reason. The game is capable of unique magical moments i'm sure you've all experienced over the years. I think it would be a shame if we didn't row our oars a bit when we could. Now i'm not saying anyone that can't at least enjoy Odyssey in some way should ever give it a thumbs up, but for me personally i see enough to like now, and to hope for.

Appreciate the sentiment, but they kind of shot themselves in the foot by releasing it as they did.

Not yet, I want stable-ish frame rates please.

That must be Rawhide, because I don't hear him complaining about the cowboy hat helmets.
Watched it a few times as a kid, still know the intro tune. Rawhiiiide. :p Don't know the actual words though as I only watched it back when I didn't understand English. :D
