State of the Game

Actually been looking into SPEAR lately...though I would need to up my RNG engineering ganking game, which I'm not in any hurry to do...
You really want to join the biggest ganker squadron in the game? You will instanly gain ginger hair and step-child status, well at least with anyone with standards!

Make sure you announce it if you do - others may also wish to remove you from their friends list... 🤮

Some of the conversations I saw in system chat over the weekend now make a lot more sense. Thanks.

I said looking into...only learned about it late last week...seems reasonable on the surface, but maybe its not...just like many other things...need to dig deeper before any commitments are made, like always...was also just reading the latest "weekend anti-ganking rant" and about to make a post to the OP...

That said, over 50% of my friends list is players who have ganked me...I've not blocked anyone...one day I may seek them out and return the favor, because I'm finding lately that I really like ship combat but I'm just not in a position where I can compete in a meaningful way...yet.

Right who wants free games?

I have a key for Dragon Age Inquisition on the EA/Origin launcher and a key for Control on the GoG launcher.

I got both free as part of my prime gaming subscription and I don't need them.

I'm good thanks, but kind of you to offer. How do I find the free games section on prime mate as I keep forgetting to look. I guess it's on the website as opposed to the tv? Thanks bud.

You also have to move into your mum's basement, and do a lot of work with your dominant hand.

I don't really have anything to do with them but have encountered them a few times. Also friends (not just Ratty) have mentioned that they are a bit of a bunch of tools - so tbh if you want to do pvp or similar I'd recommend some other group mate, as they are not thought of very well despite their adverts.

I'm not judging you for your thinking though mate, just trying to help out so you don't get labelled as a bit of a plank iykwim?! ;)

Thanks, growing up my mother always told me that there are always at least 2 sides to any story. Words to live by...

Yes, and its frustrating and challenging (see the beginning of the video if you're interested in that, and admittedly not the best kill ratio I've attained at doing it), but not nearly as frustrating as not being able get to the hunt, as the last 8 minutes testifies...though that was its own kind of fun, for a short amount of time...
Enjoyed the video mate. You're braver than me running that loadout against that many scouts lol.

Last year, a squadron with around 18 (massive, I know) active members was holding off an offensive from one of the top 10 membership squadrons - they called for help from said 'lawful' group as the squadron they were having such problems in squashing had a very well-known ganker as an officer. Said group arrived, did not find the 'criminal scum' promised so spent happy hours blowing up innocent traders and explorers...

Even I had a wing of 4 'lawfuls' interdict my stock eagle with no weapons, shields or armour - and no fines or bounties either - and spend a happy few minutes chasing me around before succeding in KWS me, then to hit me and blow up my obvious gank ship... While they were 'busy' facing my threat, 4 others from the squadron I was in launched and took care of the second wing that were rushing to the aid of the first...

Yeah, proper lawful... I was there, I even have the video, as, naturally, I'd started recording to show the ship was clean and totally harmless before launching from the pad. ;)

Now I understand why their membership list is so short...that was bugging me...

Yeah, it takes more sorties to get my quota for the missions, but as long as I can keep track of my ship status and not push too far, its challenging and fun, especially since the Aegis ship is so close.

Did you see where I escaped the encounter with caustic, no limpets left and only about 20 % hull...and then the canopy blew out in SC on approach to the megaship...and I actually made it to the pad?...priceless experience there...got my adrenaline going...

Why didn't you overheat the ship to burn off the caustic when you were leaving? Would have taken some module damage, but not worth talking about.

AFMU will also repair your canopy. As RC says as you're running shieldless there's no negative to running silent running and pop off a few gauss to overheat and burn off the effect. Then heatsink to cool. The decontamination limpets are not really necessary unless you feel you need them. Try stagger firing your gauss 2 - 1 (in your case) on each trigger will also help to keep your heat down.

Also try doing this to the gankers, I find it helps...

AFMU is also viable in a shieldless ship as more 'free' sys power is available because the shield generator isn't busy munching megawatts... Could also be repairing armour modules on the fly too.

there's only two ways someone can be ganked in open and that's if you're in a CZ and someone is last shotting your kills and thus getting all the credit for them, or you're mining and and someone is nearby with limpets and they're taking your ore.

Always thought a single shot at an enemy allowed you to share the bounty not steal it?

only in a wing.

and i believe the shot has to be done after shields are dropped....because it's only shared if you do some % of actual damage and unless you're rocking weapons that avoid shields for some % of their dps...you have to wait until the shields drop for it to count.

at least that's how it worked like a year or so ago. However, for players who aren't in a wing, there is no sharing. I'm pretty sure it's still last shot
