AND again, a big shout out to Random Goat for making this Meta-list! (y) And all the other folks making Meta-Wishlists!
Knowing it'd really be just the top 7 based on current DLC designs for animal packs, it works out well since there's no "ties" for 7th and 8th place. and each pack would be an instant purchase for me. Thank you for breaking down the continents like this.

In light of the actual numbers it also is interesting to note that the North America pack took care of all of the heavily requested north American animals. Even taking the Wolverine into account as a possibility, there's a wide gap between that and the top requested from Oceania, Europe, South America, Asia and Africa. And an even more pronounced gap without adding the Wolverine in that way. I'd go so far as to say that North America is now the bottom priority for adding more animals in.

Shame it can't be kept in captivity irl :(
41 EAZA Zoos and at least 12 not EAZA Zoos kept them in the Past. Currently they are kept in 2 Zoological Institutions: Almaty in Kasachstan and Askaniya Nova in Ukraine, so they can be kept in Zoos even though they are extremely rare in Captivity. I think I've read once that most of the captive ones were transported to another Place for Breeding and Release Purposes

I think what's really interesting is...there are more African animals in PZ than any other continent.

But the 9th most popular African species (Oryx - 31 votes) is still more popular than the most requested North American animal (Raccoon - 30 votes). I understand the recency bias, I think it's still interesting how popular African animals are.

It is interesting but it also drives home the point - while all continents absolutely have amazing animals, and all continents should be represented in zoo games, Africa will always be the "star" of any zoo game. I just don't think there's a way around it.

You're right. Also, Addax, Sifaka and Black Rhinoceros are highly requested African species (with almost 30 votes each, maybe more by now). So even the top 12 or so African animals are highly requested.

Personally, I think Oceania has the best remaining species. Even though Europe is clearly the most desperately needed region.

1.Capybara
2. Porcupine
3. Honey Badger
4. Hyrax
5. Sloth
6. Wallaby
7. Bush dog
8. Eurasian otter
9. Sea otter
10. Gibbons , Siamang, Golden cheeked

I mention a few birds in my list, but these are considered larger species and generally are kept in larger habitats rather than aviary exhibits.

They aren't easy to keep in captivity, but they're significantly easier than moose and possibly even giant pandas. I think part of the issue is that prior to the mid-90s they were an incredibly common animal, numbering in the millions. Why bother spending resources on an animal that is 1. hard to care for, 2. not endangered, and 3. relatively unknown and unlikely to attract visitors.

That's changed now that their population has crashed, and more zoos and parks are looking into getting them to set up back-up breeding populations. I'd really love them in the game just to draw awareness to their plight and get more people on board with saving the snufflenoses!

More than 75 Zoo’s in Europe keeps them. and even more in US. How is it possible that they are still not in the game yet?

Please do remember about Red River Hogs when you create your lists. That is the one and only animal that I would go to the moon and back for it to end up in the game one day 😍

Definitely would be a great African addition -here with go with the more African animals requests, but this one's a fairly commonly kept species and would only be the third of the suidae family. Would be a lot more variety for our zoos than the 7th or 8th African antelope. And I would think wouldn't be too much of modifying existing rigs to do.

I really hope the Takin makes it in!

Glad to see the tanuki has as many votes as it does. I wouldn't have thought it'd be even as high as 14. Granted, I don't expect that they'll ever make it into the game, but... maybe, just maybe with enough support.....
I'm still a huge advocate for a specific Japan Pack - Raccoon dog, red-crowned crane, Japanese serow, sika, and Japanese fire-bellied newt. I'd buy it without blinking.
