A level playing field that exists between PC and Console players are the CG's - and that's my main interest nowadays, mainly because of the said 'level playing field'. But I do wonder when will Frontier begin to release one Horizons and one Odyssey relevant CG for the week - I've started to dread Thursday's, I'm sure it'll come...

On another point - I've just bought a Series S. The galaxy screens load so fast! and everything else is just that little bit more responsive. It's well worth the cash...

Why would they do that? Is there something not level about the CG playing field right now between consoles and PC for the average player?

EDO has exclusive combat zones on planets...
Conflict zones are the single and only EDO exclusive CG points that favour EDO..
but there is ZERO exclusion from getting rewards as the reward items are from 75% up tier, but there are no exclusive items for the higher ups...
but these single events are the Only events that favour EDO... Until AI SRV may be added...
Cargo events can't be done in EDO only areas…
Bounty hunting can't be done in EDO only areas…
Salvage cant be done well in EDO only areas…

You can still get into the 75% and up tier very easy in EDH ut it will take more “time”...

I’m not sure that’s true. I’m not going to test it because I have no interest in this CG, and I’m not interested in playing my copy of EDO on PC, but the LICZ TTK is very quick on a combat ship and the bounties don’t suffer. I’m pretty sure the total time to get into the Top 75% is very similar in both games.

It is true been true since day one of EDO when SRV use in ground CZ was meta for all minor factions winning assets...
Its specially why FDEV has continued to release Ground items to counter this action meta for winning assets in systems..
Rocket launcher added to Slow down CZ on ground... (untill people learned the AI flaws which made them useless as a restriction)
Ground turrets added to slow down ground combat SRV meta and reduce ships over zone...
AI ships added to slow down ships carpet bombing even more .
AI SRV to again will aim to slow down ground combat.

conflict zones not only feature in CGs but there used by player minour factions to win wars for BGS system assets and its still way quicker for PMF to win ground then to bother with space battles...
Specificly when systems like the CG generate High on ground but only generate Medium in space...
With out high there is no capitan or war correspondence sitting ducks to kill..

For getting cash, which all the CG cares about, the meta is to never go into anything higher than Low Intensity CZs in space combat. The TTK is too long in HICZ because of the engineering prevalence in them compared to Low. As I said, I don’t know how fast earning bounty credits is in EDO ground CZs, but it’s really fast in LICZ in space. All that counts for the CG is how fast you can earn credits, HICZ prevalence, BGS, systems assets, none of that matters. If someone has done testing in the credits per hour earned in ground combat, please let it out so we have evidence of the claim that Odyssey is unbalancing the game. I’m not saying that’s not true, but I don’t believe conspiracy theories without proof…I know, strange isn’t it?

honestly wouldnt be surprised if next week after this Theta 7 code mallarky as well as the current CG of Aegis VS Salvation/Taurus Mining, the CG next week would be the 3rd stage of this Colonia Bridge project.

'Community Goals section' Fight for Taurus Mining Ventures CG post - page 4 and scroll down.
A better one - same section 'Does ground combat count towards the community goal?'

I’ve read all of that earlier. Nothing in the second post mentions anything about credits per hour for an on-foot HICZ. The CG post has numbers all over the place, from 6.5 million per to 13 million per run, and only one person mentions a total time which you can backward calculate to a time per run of 15 minutes. I’ve had a discussion in a discord where the numbers were anywhere from 32-70 million credits per hour. That’s hardly a definitive answer, or even a close estimate for a range of possibilities to consider.

As I said, I’m not convinced it’s purely a ground combat credit imbalance, simply because I can’t compare the numbers myself, and the results that are being thrown out are so wildly different as to be irrelevant. However if it is a ground combat imbalance, I hope it is what caused this CG to end early, so it can be rebalanced before it gets to console. After all, that’s the whole purpose behind this six month long beta test the PC users have been on so far.

My OP wasn't talking about any imbalance of the CG in general terms for Odyssey - but that Frontier should try and keep a level playing field for Horizons and Odyssey players for the weekly CG's. It's clear, that the inclusion this week of High ground CZ's for Odyssey caused an imbalance, as there were no High CZ's in Horizons - you don't need a calculator to prove the level playing field sloped significantly towards Odyssey this week...

Actually, you do. If you don’t have it, you’re just speculating. That speculation may be right, but it’s still nothing but speculation. I’ll wait for the proof, as I always do, rather than just taking the word of a random bunch of pixels on the Internet. I hope it turns out you’re right, as I said, this is the time to get it fixed.

Exactly true. A fact needs proof, could you please present yours so we can discuss it?

Great, thanks for the video link Graphite I appreciate the very helpful info. I have a couple observations.

1. Those are quite possibly the worst NPCs I’ve ever seen in a first person shooter. If that’s the level of opposition you face in a High Intensity Conflict Zone, then the combat bond payouts shouldn’t be anywhere near what they’re paying out. They need be cut to 25% of what they are now, or cut to 50% and increase the damage the NPCs do by 100% in conjunction with number 2.

2. Death doesn’t erase combat bonds won up to that point. Interesting. So there’s basically no risk for all of that reward. Again, needs to be made the same as all other types of combat. You die, you lose your bonds. That’ll keep people from running around with almost no regard for cover or allied NPC help like in the video, taking risks that would never be rewarded in any other FPS on the hardest difficulty setting, which is what High Intensity supposedly is in this game.

From the video, it appears that ground HICZs earn about two and a half times what a space HICZ or LICZ can earn in an hour. It may be closer to three times depending on how Odyssey handles ammunition restocking and resetting of the HICZ instance compared to the space versions.

So good, it appears that there is a rebalancing that needs to take place, and we all can hope it happens soon.

You think I should apologize to someone? I thanked Graphite for providing actual evidence of an imbalance. A broken clock is right twice a day, that doesn't mean I should apologize to the clock when it refuses to explain why it's broken. However, if you need me to apologize to you for something, I will. I'm sorry.

Jorval - I apologise for being a little harsh in the above post. You came across as quite patronising when I was trying to explain the issues surrounding the CG's. And to be honest, when Odyssey has a High GC and Horizons doesn't, that's a pretty clear imbalance - it was difficult for me to understand why you couldn't see that. The info Graphite provided is another additional element of the imbalance, additional but a welcome addition to the conversation though...

I have edited the above post as respect for a fellow Elite player...

so with this weeks combat CG module reward being a top 25% affair it now brings this topic back up
I was on for around 5 hours in a high CZ and managed to scrape 29m
ground high CZs you could probably get that in an hour on a good run

how are we supposed to compete with that?

We can't compete - Frontier Developments dumped consoles players when they released Odyssey.
