Ships Just become a fan boy for Imperial Courier

Seriously, the most fun ship in the game I've tried, which includes many up to Anaconda and Cutter, with Kraits and Chieftan on the way.

OK the Courier engineered with 3A performance enhanced dirty grade 5 drive distributors and light weight everything to keep it fast but still combat capable. 2D shields, 2A power plant engineered and multi canons to keep 3D power distributor draw down - it's charge enhanced 5 supercaps of course.
My combat skills are middling, but the likes of NPC Anacondas and Alliance Crusaders almost can't land a hit - I use chaff a lot with this ship.
I lost the battle with the Crusader because I boosted into it by accident and the Courier just popped like a balloon. I need more practiced with it, but I laughed 😅😅😅

I normally do combat in a heavily engineered Krait II which is a real tank in comparison.

Any other iCourier fans with tips for keeping a Courier light and fast in combat let me know.

I'm still useless with fixed weapons - running gimbelled MCs as I rarely hit the target when I tried fixed. I will finish rapid fire auto loader engineering soon. I do Overcharged MCs on bigger ships that fight at longer range for less jitter and better accuracy.
I don't want to down size to any kind of Eagle as the Courier has just enough space for hatch and collector limpet controllers and a few limpets for the missions I like to run.

Welcome to the club!

You might want to start here => https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/fast-battle-courier.508740/ it includes a few variants of builds. Since engineering with Couriers almost always comes down to weight, you will probably want more focused builds rather than a multi-purpose one.

Personally I run a few (ahem) different couriers, the most commonly used ones are an 848m/s 47.64LYr mission runner, a hardier shield tank for CZs, and an Odyssey specific build that I'm still tweaking.
I've also got one with really fast scanners for when I need to hoon about collecting data, a bright yellow taxi for passenger missions, an AX variant (not perfected) and an explorer-ish build for guardian sites and high grade raw materials gathering outside the bubble.

Yeah, after typing all this I may have an addiction problem.... :)

You know there are 37 other ships in the game to play with ... 🤣🤣😅😅
You win the crown for the Courier's biggest fan 😉

I'm keeping the Courier to short range courier/salvage/assasinate pirate or terrorist missions. The type of mission to boost my faction's influence when and where needed. I have plenty of other ships for other jobs.

I realised I can go down a size in fuel tank and that gets speed up to the max 851 once I've finished all the other light weight engineering, and I can still get where I need to go with little or no fuel scooping.

I have one or two of those too.. Mamba, Krait, Phantom, Clippers, Cutter, both Cobra's.
But I always seem to end up drifting back to the Couriers. Loose wiring triggers me, things made out of girders feels like they couldn't be bothered to finish the ship, and there is no view (in VR) quite like a Courier.
