Do posh ships have posh running costs. I mean say in Elite taking something like Imperial Cutter for some noob mission is not going to pay even fuel costs and paint scratches.Decided to go posh whilst doing the boxes...even if you're penniless, you can at least pretend to be rich. It's like taking a Ferrari to Tesco to pick up some milk and bread

are there any others who post here occasionally without ever having spent a dime on CR? Asking for a friend...
I'm one such.By the way, besides the rare exceptions like me, are there any others who post here occasionally without ever having spent a dime on CR? Asking for a friend...
I suspect we're less rare than you think. Occasional poster here, and a few free-flies under my belt.By the way, besides the rare exceptions like me, are there any others who post here occasionally without ever having spent a dime on CR? Asking for a friend...
Are you sure you got the plural of Idris right?will of course talk at length about how many Idrisii i've bought.
Wouldn't trust Chris Roberts as far as I could throw his brother Erin. Never given him a penny and never will.By the way, besides the rare exceptions like me, are there any others who post here occasionally without ever having spent a dime on CR? Asking for a friend...
Well, it was you who originally equated Rockstar with CIG when it comes to hosting thousands of devs, and it was you who stated CIG is not wasting money, and it was you who dismissed the salaries and compensation of CIG directors as normal. Etc, etc.SC is only a game. If CIG fail, we'll just have a game disappearing, nothing more. If children´s education fail, it makes broken adults.
You talk about it like it's something important for humankind or society. It's not, it's a leasure.
Gaming companies can have no consequences and zero accountability, education cannot.
Indeed. Unless you consider that you have in fact released your actual product. Sales in exchange of an actual released product, not pledges or crowdfund anymore. But we have gone through this before. Those dividends make me wonder. Either CIG sells products and gets some income, preferably profits from where they pay dividends. OR they insist that their "sales" are in fact pledges, then it is not sale income, does not give profits, and there is nothing from where you should pay out dividends. It is like company taking a loan, and then paying "dividends" to owners from that "income". Crime in many legislations.
You forgot in that cycle the part where CIG gets backers cash especially during the hyping part, but doesn’t return it when walking back.Just another disclaimer. I mean, great in a way they do say "maybe", "hopefully", but at this point it seems more like they put the disclaimers to ensure they can't be done legally rather than an actual belief they can actually deliver on any of it.
And its not like they haven't for years hyped and led people to believe they will one day get those hundreds or even thousands of player battles. I'm sure there have been a few statements from Erin and Chris over the years about thousands of player battles. That's one of the things people gave them money for.
Turns out, it doesn't look likely its going to happen, ever.
This is the cycle CIG have got themselves into.
Hype features they don't know they can deliver on
Keep hyping it
Eventually start to deliver
Actual implementation is limited but "Tier 0"
CIG walk back on their earlier hype
Backers absolve CIG and retcon history to say CIG never promised it, it was just something they hoped to achieve.
Turns out you can be as ambitious as you want and hype things as much as you want even if you have no clue how to do it. Backers will absolve you anyway if you fail to deliver on it.
...without ever spending a dime?? Haters!By the way, besides the rare exceptions like me, are there any others who post here occasionally without ever having spent a dime on CR? Asking for a friend...
For running costs...not really. Bigger QT drives use more fuel...or upgraded components have a trade off by using more power etc. The only real differential cost of posh ships is in your wallet when you buy themDo posh ships have posh running costs. I mean say in Elite taking something like Imperial Cutter for some noob mission is not going to pay even fuel costs and paint scratches.
I bought Elite 1984.Wouldn't trust Chris Roberts as far as I could throw his brother Erin. Never given him a penny and never will.

Let's be honest, there's already more than enough in their to-do library, so we might as well add on sandworms. I doubt it'll effect the release/finish date.Maybe it was a lie - maybe not, maybe its still planned for well, Leir.
Star Citizen is Schrodinger's Game. Those dividends make me wonder. Either CIG sells products and gets some income, preferably profits from where they pay dividends.
